No kidding! Might take a while for that one. The one on it isn't that bad for now.

    Update:

Installed a reproduction K1/HK1 seat, repaired neutral switch, installed new stock tail light, Repaired battery tray anchor nuts, Replaced Battery & damaged battery tray and coil. Also, fixed all wiring and straightened stock K1/HK1 handlebars.

I ordered a Honda .25mm over Piston and Rings set. Compression was 150 PSI and once torn apart, I discovered the piston and cylinder were out of limits.

Once the weather improves, I'm going to throw it on a trailer and attempt the California registration process. Waiting for tax refund before tackling the painting hurdle. I already have replacement stickers and warning labels waiting to go on the fresh Candy Ruby Red paint.

Here's a picture with the new seat installed.

The motors back together and puring like a kitten. Found a pin hole in the carb float that I had to replace. I will polish and/or replace a few odds and ends before the tax refund arrives and the painting is addressed.

Still working the California DMV obstacle course to get it titled and registered. Should be resolve in a weeks time.

Below is a link to walk-around video I filmed today.

    Update:
The California title and registration saga continues. I had the frame and engine numbers verifed and checked by the CHP. Now with all SEVEN forms of required paperwork perhaps Monday the California DMV will finally give me the title and registration.

The tax refund is processing so the tear down for painting will happen with in the next couple weeks.

I'm sending the engine to Mark for inspection and/or repair.

Nice going HG. Congratulations. Do you know if the paint on the muffler guard was originally glossy or flat? What paint did you use?

Not sure actually. All the older ones I've seen look flat black but, that could be sun bleached. I used Rustoleum semi gloss Hi-temp 500 degree paint.
