She needed some new brakes.
And the new chain & sprockets. The old ones were SHOT.
Next up was the points cover. The clearcoat was coming off, and I didn't feel like polishing. I'm sitting here now, waiting for more shock parts.

I'm certainly not out for any sort of concours restoration. I wanted a fun little bike to play with when we're out on camping trips. That said...
I thought I'd update the thread with some progress pics. I started tearing into the little bastard and found a lot of things that needed some attention. I can never leave anything alone. Check out the BALD tire.
From this pic, you can see it needed a new chain and sprockets. The wheels are a two piece split version. They're a complete bitch to pull apart. The rings are steel and had a little bit of rust on the inside. I actually had to cut the tire apart to get it off the rim.
Pardon the crappy cell phone pics:
I cleaned up the wheels as well as I could. I sure do wish I had my own sand blast cabinet. Gloss black with a few coats of clear.
Reassembled rear wheel.
The front shocks were a mess. They are a hydraulic version with a spring. The boot had torn a long time ago. The rubber was completely degraded. The shock oil looked like a chocolate milkshake.
I have a few more things left to do with the front shocks and such, but it should be only a few more nights in the garage.

Did you go for new points/condensor when you had the timing cover off?
