Thread: Specific K1-K2 questions for the pro's

1.) What tire came originally on the K1's and K2's? I've got a couple K1's that have "Nitro" brand 2 ply tires, one K1 with Bridgestone 2 ply tires, and one K2 with "tractor grip" 4 ply IRC tires.. could any of these be original?

2.) Is there a specific vin # where the bikes changed from round badges to oval badges? I've got two K2's... one with oval, and one with round.

P.C. is right about the tires. On the second issue about the K2 with a round badge tank, I would bet that it came with an oval badge and has been changed at some point?

I'm not perfectly rehearsed at this either, and only know what I've observed. Which is exactly what you have guys. The Nitto's are the earliest, the Tractor Grip's are the latest and Bridgestones are accross the board. Finding a great set of Nitto's is rare.
270236 is supposed to be the 1st K2 and they all had oval badges. K1 - round

just to prove to you the tank and frame dont match, check the build date code under the tank and compare it to the date code on the inside of the plates the rear wheel bolts to on(sprocket side). I think you'll find they are quite far apart, i haven't seen more than a 2 weeks difference on an original

Mine came with Bridgestone's,build date of 9-69
