    sprocket help

I finally had a chance to run the bike all day I took it and used it a large swap meet/tractor show held here in Florida. All I can say is I definitely need some changes! I can put it in 3rd and forth gear and start off from a standstill with no strain on the engine. I puttered around the swap meet like that all day long.

I have run it up close to the 50 mark on the speedo (betting these things are very inaccurate), its screaming but has more on the throttle and will still pull. Note I'm also southwest Florida so I'm a "flatlander".

Checked out what I have on there now today. Its a 14t front and 42t rear. 3.50 tires. I am ordering new tires very soon as the rear needs replacement and I'm jumping up to 4.00's

The motor on this bike is a lifan 4spd manual clutch, 86cc all stock. It sure feels like it can take alot more strain. I would love to get the revs down a bit at around 45mph and would love to have the gearing a little more useful. also, looking under the cover it does not look like I have a whole lot of room left, I dunno if say a 17t would have enough clearance If I went to something like that?

    thanks for any suggestions

Order a 15 and 16 tooth front sprocket. 17 is too big for that engine to lug with a 42t in the rear. Start with the 15 first. If you use the 16, you may need to lengthen or replace the chain with a longer one unless you go down on the rear sprocket too.

a 38 rear would work good with the 15 or 16 countershaft.i have a 38 in great shape cheap if you need one.

I think I would try a 38 in the rear and a 16 up front, for street and a 14 or 15 for dirt.

    I just changed my Lifan 110 -- I used 33 back / 16 front .

Still has room to play . Maybe 17 frt ?

I finally got around to trying something else. last week I ordered a set of 4.00x10 cheng shin trailwing copies (cheap@ bikerbandit.com BTW) and a 36 tooth rear sprocket.

"Mucho bettero" I need to figure out a way to hold my GPS and take it for a ride as the speedo is definitely not reading right, but its alot faster top end, takes more to get it there though of course. I would say its on the verge of needing more power, if I was not on level ground I would want a few more teeth.

Now its time for a little more power!!! I'll run it hard again a few more times and read the plug, maybe I can rejet a little???

Oh yea, bike looks better with the trailwing style tires on it rather than those street tires it had, and actually rides a hell of alot nicer even!!!
