    For Sale: Suzuki mt50 Trailhopper

Not sure if its okay to post this but I just bought a package deal of bikes, z50, mr50, and the Trailhopper mt50. I really only wanted the z50, so I had to buy them all. I don't know much about the bike, its in decent shape, needs footpeg assembly, airbox, and kickstart lever. If anyones interested, I'm selling it for $250.00....(I live in Minnesota) Thanks!

I have an original one that I am the original owner of. the bike you have is missing a few more parts than you listed like oil tank cover.

    does it run?

they are fun little 2-stroke bikes, wish I was closer I would not mind having another.

Thanks for the response, the prior owner said it ran, had compression and spark, do you basically add straight gas to the tank and 2 cycle oil to the side tank??? I'd rather just be done with it so I can wrench on the z50.

yep it mixes the gas for you. I don't have my owners manual with me or else I could tell you the specifics (it might say on oil cap). also the transmission has its own oil so you must make sure that is filled. If you take it for a ride you may change your mind and decide to keep it, it is a different experience than a 4 stroke Honda and a ton of fun. if you bought the few items that are missing and made it a complete bike there is a good chance you could turn pretty good $$ for it on ebay.

Thanks a million for that info! It would be nice to get it running at least. I'll give it a try I bet it has a bit more torque than a z50.!!

if you decide to keep it, I can scan in the owners manual and get you a copy. I bet its faster than the z50...mine does near 35mph on the original motor with well over 3000 miles and it gets there pretty fast. these little two strokes run great mine always starts on the first kick and runs like a champ. One thing I like about their design also is that Suzuki was smart and placed the choke control on the handle bar so you don't have to reach down and grab it like on a Honda. Also to run it the fuel valve is not located on the carb but is separate on the side.

lmk how it goes...if it has good compression and still fails to start it proly just needs a new spark plug or the carb needs cleaning.

every so often somebody parts one out or lists a bunch of NOS parts you just have to keep an eye out. I have seen every part you are looking for listed many times before.

here is an airbox but Im pretty sure ive seen them cheaper

I bet you can get all the missing parts for under 100 and have a nice complete bike. the most expensive part is going to be the oil panel cover and ive seen those show up new NOS for 50-75. footpegs go for cheap as well as the other parts

I just bought 1972 MT50. It runs ok. It is missing tourque though the gears. I changed the head gasket and plug and that give it some neutral kick, but is missing something. This bike is has not had a lot of TLC. Any suggestions? And do you still have an owners manual?
    Thanks
