In some EU markets, 49cc versions were/are considered mopeds and that kept the market open for younger riders. Aside from a steering lock flange and having threaded holes at the rearmost part of the frame (which later CTs got), the differences between ST models and CTs are pretty minor and they're all bolt-ons. ST70 & ST50 models differ only in displacement.
It hasn't sold because it is somewhat overpriced & under-promoted. The US market has been almost schizophrenic toward Dax models. They've been easier to sell on the other side of the pond, generally speaking. Trying to adequately explain collector vehicle values, which are a constantly moving target anyway, would take enough verbiage to fill a small novel. For the sake of this discussion, let's suffice it to say that recognition plays a big role. Now, don't get me wrong, that's a rare bike and in nice shape. It's a great base bike to restore, just nowhere near show quality. As straight & clean as it appears in those pix, pitted chrome & oxidized fasteners can be seen. The original headlight bucket is absent, as well. The seller would do a lot better with some national, or better yet international, exposure. There's no mention of shipping, either.
