Thread: 1970 ct70 hko wont start

im not sure whats wrong now, i have compression, the carbs been clean, im getting spark, where am i going wrong. It has a kick starter, and it seems to me that its slipping slightly, but the cylinder still turns over. I get about 110lbs compression with about 6-10 kicks. All the carb openings have been cleaned as well as the jets. It wont even fire. Please give me any ideas of what could be wrong

I would put in a new set of points and make sure your valve clearances are set to spec. I would also try a different plug.

i now got the bike to start and idle good, but im having trouble getting it into neutral, and then when i actually do get it going, what speeds about should i be shifting it at, i tried to get it into third and it just bogged way down and i dont want to run the risk of over reving it, thankyou

I have a CT70H also, I have been fighting clutch adjustment. I kept adjusting it and found out the cable was stretched. Installed a new one, adjusted the clutch and the cable.
