Thread: 1973 ST90 ran , now no spark.....

Hello new to the forum, have a 73 st90 was running had weak spark but ran good once running. Now cant get spark, the coil/plug wire is very old and rigid. I gapeed the points , and cleaned them. Can someone tell me the resistances for the coil and where to take them from?? I have the coil out. also how to test the stator??? I have a multi-bike clymer manual that has very little on the st90.... Please help me get my mighty green 90 up and running again thanks for all help! Aaron.

go to honda buy new points and coil....i know the values but its not worth even addressing due to the coil and points probably beieng older then the rockies..albeit the stator is assumed good since you had it running..only way to smoke the generator coils is running with no battery....go spend $20 bucks at honda along with new plug and i bet she will fire right up...you can search on here...i along with many others have tons of posts regarding your exact situation...just do not buy any chi-com electrical stuff...get your butt to honda

Install a new condensor while you are replacing the points.

Ok, ordered new coil/condenser,plug cap , and points, from Beatrice (dratv). will update as parts are installed.....

ok back up and running strong, new coil/condenser, points gapped/cleaned. New batt. to boot. painting the exhaust since it was off and rusty.....

good..and i only use genuine honda electrical parts...
