The lights run off of the generator and the battery basicly acts as a capacitor(stored energy) for when the motor is at idle or low speed to help keep the dimming to a minimum. The fuse wil be 7 amp and the bulb number is 6V17/5.3W.

A blown fuse will cause the same symptoms as a dead, or missing, battery. The rectifier may have given up the ghost and if that's the case, you'll continue with the same problems until it's replaced. I'd check the output voltage with the engine running, that will tell you what's going on in short order.
I had put a new rectifier in ,was ordered from Honda dealer.Wasnt the original metal one more like a tube with 2 wires.Could I have damaged the rectifier when fuse blew. Thanks Phill
Replaced 7amp fuse.replaced brake light with 1154 automotive 6 volt all lights work right. Now its time to get horn to work,Thanks for help.Phill
More likely the old rectifier was a dead player in the first place.Originally Posted by 1969 CT70
