    Heli coil number question?

    Hello,
Can anyone tell me what the heli coil number is for the spark plug on a trail 70
I guess the threads are 10 mm, but I did not know what the other number is.
    Thanks,

The kit size I use is a M10X1.0X15.0 Might be a hair long but you can trim to fit. The ones I like are from a company in Torrance ca. 310 891 1995 Thread Kits Co. Hope this helps.

If it helps, the Thread pitch is 1 mm and there are 8 full threads on a spark plug. The length of a helicoil is usually specified as a fraction of the diameter of the helicoil. For this case, a one diameter helicoil will be 10 mm long and should work just fine. They sell free running and self locking helicoils. I'd go with the free running. A self locking helicoil has a raised thread mid way down that would lock with the spak plug thread (i.e. a locking helicoil). A self locking helicoil in this case would tend to come with the plug if you had to remove or replace the spark plug.

    Thanks guys,
I will head to the auto parts store tonight and see what I can come up with.
If I strike out here in town, I'll give the folks in Ca. a call and get one on it's way
