    Yep, gasket thickness can do this. Haven't encountered this much over the past couple of years, though. Some of the a/m gasket kits used to include two oil pump gaskets, of different thickness. And, yes, they are all very thin. If you're running into problems with a/m gaskets, then it might be best to just source an OEM oil pump gasket.

    I measured the a.m. gasket, and surprisingly it was .004". I measured the paper that i laid down to re-assemble my motor on (some packaging paper that i got some parts with) and it is .006"...Perfect! Cut out a new gasket with a hobbie razor knife and now i have one less issue to deal with!

    Not trying to be a cheapskate, but i'm just not gonna have time to work on this thing if i ordered an oem gasket, and had to wait for it. After wedensday of this week i'm going to become VERY busy with other stuff.
