    Trailtech Vapor Speedo/Tech

Has anyone attempted to adapt one of these to their mini trail?
Vapor: Motorcycle/ATV Tachometer Speedometer at Trail Tech Home
They have direct fit kits, but reading into the installation part of the manuals it seams possible.

-If 12V battery power is not available (mx bike) it can be connected to the stator coil (6.00-400 Vac/Vdc)
-measures speed from magnetic bolt mounted to wheel
    -inductive tach sensor
-temp sensor available for air cooled engines

    Priced at $120 USD

    I have one

I am running on on my CT70. Mounts in no problem and I am running it off a 12v system. I love it! Wires in really easy too.

How does the "inductive" tach sensor work? Does it have a separate sensor that runs off the flywheel or something?

    spark pickup

You can pickup from the coil or wrap a wire around the spark lead.

Only time will tell if the units hold up to the rigors of small bike vibration & moisture. I expect that they will. Hardened electronics have come a long way in recent years. For a shot. You get a fairly complete dash in one unit, it's dirt cheap and speedo accuracy will be light-years beyond stock. A working tach is useful tunng tool and a tripmeter is nearly indispensible if you ride any significant distances. User-programmability is a huge plus for anyone running a non-stock tire size. It boils down to aesthetics. I've never been fond of digital gauges, but that's one slick little unit and looks to be perfectly scaled for a CT70.
