It's actually called Put in Bay on South Bass Island on Lake Erie. You have to take a ferry out to it. I was born and raised in Ohio before joining the Navy. I've been to the island several times growing up. That would be a blast to join you but, I'm stuck out here in California now. Have fun for the rest of us.

4 years ago, my buddy and I drove a 100 mile loop up there. I don't remember the specifics, but I think 10 of the miles were done on Put in bay after taking the ferry.
We were both on our CL70's and this was before the big block china motors and high power stuff came into play. I was running a Lifan 89cc with electric start that I had added a big bore kit and tm24 flatslide making 114cc and could go about 60 flat out. The compression was so high that the electric starter would no longer turn over.
Greg - I corrected the spelling of your thread title, to avoid confusion. I believe that the annual "invasion" takes place around the July 4th holiday. I've met a number of local CT70 riders who claim this event has taken on a life of its own and is growing at a healthy rate. No idea how this year's attendance might be affected, probably not much. The place is close for a good number of us and I doubt there will be anyplace on the island where even a stock bike (in a decent state of tune) would have a problem exceeding the speed limit. With this kind of sheltered environment, ample meeting places and great scenery it's tough trying to think of a more universal small bike event.
Thanks Bob spelling is not my strong point. This sounds like a lot of fun it would be nice to meet people that are into these bike's as much as we are. I think some of my friend's think I'm crazy. The lower speed limits are cool, Both my bike's are running small motors a 88cc and a 72cc.
