The scientific term is a 6-letter word, that begins with the sixth letter of the English alphabet and rhymes with "duct".

crazy part is there is always "someone" out there that ends up buying. craigslist and ebay are your friend no matter the cost in most cases.

wouldnt it be nice to not care what you spend money on ? ;)

FWIW I don't disagree, those are high resale prices...if they're not shill bids. And they appear to be legit. That said, neither even approaches the meth lab seller's auctions - you know, the guy out in the desert listing OEM :poop: for drug-addled prices.

It all boils down to condition. If those chromed parts are usable as-is, there's a huge savings on chrome plating. If the headlight ears & lower covers are in blast & paint condition, there's no bodywork...a cost savings and potentially a huge benefit for someone lacking body repair skills. And, if the lower fork legs are free of road rash, they're worth a premium, if only for ease of restoration.

Make no mistake, this looks like a gamble to me. If the chrome is anything other than near-perfect, and/or the fork legs have hidden flaws, someone's likely going to be disappointed.

The bottom line remains the same however. No one's holding a gun to your head, forcing you to bid.

B.i.n 3595.00 ?

I would expect a much better "restoration" at this price point.

They also have a CT70 listed that is just as nice.

I spy...a Chineezy top end assembly and the paint looks weak for this price point. Looks like a non-OEM exhaust, too. The off-brand tires are all but a non-issue, maybe a $100 negotiating point...no BFD. IMO, the painted letters are kind of a nice touch. Easy enough to swap-on a pair of TW2s if that's a sore spot.

holy schneikies…

is there something special about the 74 cover that makes it rare, or is that just 'what they cost' now? The cover isn't even perfect...
