1974 CT-70 K3 Muffler Needed

Hello everyone

I will say I am enjoying the progress with the CT but what I have noticed is the muffler has some issues. Header pipe seems decent but there is a 2" hole towards the baffle in the rear but the large heat shield is in excellent condition.

Since it it is no longer being made by Honda, what options do I have in terms of a aftermarket muffler. The ones that the Dr carries do not use the mid mounting location and I really would like to keep it as original as possible and not using that mounting point seems to take away from that.

Also are there any being made by Honda for other years that will fit the K3? I have read differing opinions, some say yes and others say no. I have emailed the Dr but he has never replied once and that's after buying 400.00 in parts from him. Go figure.

Not many mufflers come up for sale here, you would have better luck with a little patience on ebay. Just be prepared to spend some cash as they aren't cheap.

As a matter of fact, there is a brand new complete setup for your bike only $525 shipped. :21: Better get it while it is still available.

I don't mind if it is aftermarket but I would like it to be correct for the period of the bike. There are plenty of aftermarket versions out there but they don't use the mid mounting point and I figure if you want to keep it looking correct it would be nice but it might not be possible at this point and time.

Can you post some pics of the damage to the exhaust that you have? It may be repairable. Good used ones are a little pricey too.

I ended up finding a brand new one on ebay for more than I should pay at 279 but for something down the road which will probably never be available again seems worth it.

That's going rate, at present. FYI, they were ~$165 before being added to the NLA parts list.

What kinda shape is the header pipe in? I have an exhaust that the header pipe is cracked near the head.

Most pipes I see are rusted/rotted out where the chrome guard mounted on the asbestos grommet up in the front.
