A couple bikes that are worth a look.

Not sure if that was a real sale or not. I know he paid $3,500 for it and drove from Maryland to Denver to pick it up from a guy I know. Maybe they were just feeling out the market?? Who knows for sure.

The silver tag went from 500 to 1300 in the last five seconds. And the seller didnt post a photo of the engine serial number. I thought about it, but in the end it was just too much for too little, especially all the silver tag parts it was missing.

I came really close to winning that ST50. Sure would have looked good in the collection.

Lowered 82 CT70. Be sure to check out that "lowered" part. This is how they do it... all too often.

This thing a mishmash of parts from earlier models, probably what he had lying around. With no suspension, it won't take many miles before problems manifest. If you're going to take it above 20-25mph, it's a deathtrap. The `82 engine has a one-off (one year only) top end & crankshaft. There's no title. And, there's not a single detail shot amongst the blurry photos; who would do that when asking top dollar for a model that's near the bottom of the desirability list? What's to like about this thing?

I will say this, the silver hub/black rim/wide whitewall combo looks pretty good...in a 1950s-retro way. That'd be easy enough for anyone to replicate, on the cheap...just as it was with this machine.

Thats a very nice CEG. Did anyone notice there is electrical tape on the throttle cable? Possibly it developed a vacuum leak?

Hey, CJ...you been doing the same visual exercises as our own "Eagle-eye" Pat, a.k.a. OLD CT?

You guys have amazing talents for spotting photo details.

Fwiw, even if there is a problem with the cable (doubt that it'd be a vacuum leak) if the bike is otherwise as-represented it's a minor issue at most.

This thing looks to be in an amazing state of preservation.

Check out where the rustiest bolt is... Drumroll please... The muffler packing hold down bolt. You can bet that the exhaust is getting eaten alive and wafer thin from that crappy o.e.m. metal munching, moisture retaining packing!:devilish: That would be the first thing that needs to be addressed and corrected.:sneaky:

Great catch OC. Yeah even that bolt looks like it may be rusted into two.lol. Hopefully its still in one piece and can be patched with a sleeve.

With that low of mileage, I like to look them over to see if I see any mods. This bike is VERY original looking for sure. The paint is still gorgeous and the seat looks like its never been sat on.lol

True, very nice bike C.J.! It is weird that there are only a few lame pics and no mention of the vin# in the ad. They mention $6500. Maybe that is the reserve...

I was actually thinking this bike may bring 7K.
I seem to remember a certain K0 in this shape bringing 10K some years ago. This just might be a candidate to beat that. After all, it is an HK0.

I couldn't even guess the final bid but I think the reserve seems like it's going to be 6500. Hope it brings some big bucks.
