my new adventure bike, just picked it up today, 1970 Honda CT 70 H
X2 here. At least somene saved him the trouble of upgrading the forks.Looks like a 3 speed K0 frame with a HK0 engine and a K1 front end and a K0 headlight bucket. Lots of different parts. Hope you didn't think its all original.
no I did not think it was all original so i'm ok with the mixed parts. the plan is to register it ( it has a title ) in my name and enjoy itLooks like a 3 speed K0 frame with a HK0 engine and a K1 front end and a K0 headlight bucket. Lots of different parts. Hope you didn't think its all original.
hard to get a good pic of the engine number but i'll get the frame and head when I go back out in a couple hoursThats great that it has a title! You got lucky on that one.
I'm sure you will enjoy it, as they really are fun little bikes. Could you please post pics of the engine numbers, head numbers, and the frame tag numbers?
Yep, exactly...which segues neatly into some basic wisdom. First, if it's titled, it's not worth debating the model year. Anyone aware of the basics, and that would include anyone with the slightest bit of purist tendencies, would know that debating the DOM vs model year declaration is ridiculous. Second, as it sits, this machine is 4 assemblies away from an HK1the best 4-speed version plus it looks straight & remarkably complete. It has the engine & improved fork that make it the same as a factory-built HK1, from the riders perspective. If the frame was an HK1, by its VIN, we'd be having a different conversation. But, think about it...how much functional/operational difference would there be?Another thing that's confusing is back in the day some states titled them as the year they were sold. So you easily could have say a bike built in July of 70 sold and titled in January of 71 etc.
well all I can say is I've been out enjoying it
