Lost my rear brake pedal assembly!

Its a long story...but I lost my rear brake pedal assembly.

The foot brake and the rod that goes to the back. Basically all the parts that hookup the rear brake.

I still have the rear wheel with the drum, etc. Just the pedal and the bits that go with it.

Its a 1991 and everything is discontinued from the dealer...I can't seem to find a complete "set" with the pedal, rod, adjusting nut, springs, etc. that I will need.

Is the K0 up to 1994 identical in this respect...can I use a pedal off a early model 6V bike and have it work on my 12V bike?

Here's to hoping someone might have a magjic link to a reproduction rear pedal set for a decent price somewhere!

A couple things I would do. Call Northeast Vintage cycle and ask if they have part # 46500-126-900 and second I would ask Adam-NLV to send you a close up pic of his 90's rear pedal. So you can search ebay. I see a black 1975 rear brake pedal '' might be close'' for sale but not sure if it would work on a 1991. The 1975 is much different than the older versions. It has a fixed arm.

The K4 was the first year of the one-piece brake arm. The frame pivot is shorter than on previous models. 12v frames have a larger-diameter pivot, I've no idea when that change was implemented. Worst case, it is possible to bore-out a 6v-diameter brake pedal...or fab a bushing...if needed. The only thing that is not possible is fitting a K0-early K3 three-piece brake pedal/floating arm + spacer assembly on a later frame; the stack height exceeds the length of the pivot.

EDIT: 6v/ST70 era (before the model nomenclature was changed to AB23/JH2) Dax models used the K4 type brake pedal. These can sometimes be easier to source from ebay. Look for one that came from kickstand (a.k.a. side stand) equipped bike, it'll be the same part as CT70 of the same era, except chrome plated. Center stand models are slightly different...might work but it's a gamble.

As mentioned prior, the 1990 and later brake pedals are not interchangeable with earlier years.;)

Hi Aall, hoping you could help, I have an st70 sitting in curtains in the port, I need to confirm with my spinning agent add rl the location of the chassis and engine no. Can you post a picture of where it should be? Regards Andrew.

Dax models varied quite a bit. The VIN will be stamped either on the LH side of the frame, just above the engine flywheel cover, or the steering head tube...most likely the RH (clutch) side. I've seen Dax VIN tags located on the RH side of the steering head tube (same as CT70), the RH side of the frame, just above the clutch cover...and a few that never had a VIN tag, JDM models mostly.

Engine SN is on a rectangular pad, below the countershaft (a.k.a. layshaft, in the UK). I have seen a few early model Daxes without an engine SN...the number pad was blank.
