Slow shipping

Just a heads-up. I shipped a set of rebuilt shocks out to a member. Used Two Day USPS service. Ended up taking two weeks to get there - patience needed in these Covid times

Member’s bike has some nice original emerald green paint

UPS & FedEx have been "lobbying" to kill-off the USPS for many years. This time, they may succeed...and sooner than most could imagine.

Last I heard, Trump was putting one of his cronies in charge of the USPS.
Sounds (to me) like someone is looking to put some shipping money into they big deep pockets o_O

Yes, another $223bn to the "essential" airline industry...before nearly everything else...and F/A for the "inconsequential" USPS that needed a tiny fraction of that to keep operating.

I "get" the frustration with the current level of postal service. The wrong people are being blamed and very successfully. Houdini would be impressed by the effective misdirection. That said, while I don't blame anyone for feeling as they do, I also have to wonder what our country will look like once the truth comes out and the dust settles. It ain't gonna be pretty...:(

I flew several of those essential air service routes during my airline career. Some of them benefited from the subsidy and grew to the point they no longer needed it, which was the point of the program. Others were too small to ever hope for unsubsidized service. But out of all those only a small number were truly a waste of money.

I bought some Z50 parts from Kirrbby which he shipped USPS to me last Monday. They were supposed to arrive 3 days ago. They might arrive tomorrow. Some unrelated, “non-essential” in-stock items I ordered from amazon a month ago have yet to ship!

Other Z50 parts and unrelated stuff I’ve purchased has come in a timely manner, regardless of the carrier. But delays seem much more common.

I ordered a cam chain for my S90 from a vendor in Tampa (I live in central FL) on the 7th of May by USPS. It was shipped on the 8th and projected delivery was today. I say "was" because, according to tracking data, it was in Seminole-Orlando FL distribution center on the 9th and now is at Lehigh Valley PA Distribution Center on its way to the next destination. Probably be in Moscow in a day or two. Those damn mules sure are fast.

I just heard on the radio yesterday that Congress is about to try and pass a bill that will tax the US postal service shipping charges up to 400%. There was no mention of the UPS, Fedex, ect., companies.

Google USPS annual operating budget, the new pension pre-funding forced upon it & the first 3T stimulus bill...for a start.

You think I'm a Pelosi fan? Everyone feels the way they do...and they are entitled to their feelings. Feelings are not facts. If we're going to allow any political conversations here, they are going to be based on facts. If, as you assert, Pelosi is the reason the country is in deep shit, then support the assertion with detailed facts. Even then, the odds of things turning fugly are sky-high. Not everyone thinks as you or I do. The point is this isn't a politics board, members have repeatedly voiced their disdain for politics here.

Been trying to get a radiator for my car. Coming from Dallas its taking a few days. Usually takes a day or two(I'm 30min East of Tulsa). Too bad they sent the WRONG radiator TWICE to my local parts store:mad:. Today, after work, I've got to reorder it again.

I call them "Backorderzilla". I still order from them because there prices are low and shipping is pretty fast when the parts are in stock.

I've only been using Partzilla for a few years, and I was so surprised at their fast service & shipping the first couple of years.

It seems the last year, even before the Virus started, their shipping speed really started to slow big time. I guess its not really the shipping companies they used, but more of how long they took to actually process the order and pull the parts.

I don't even bother paying the expedited shipping fee anymore as it doesn't seem to make a difference. Maybe this is the new norm.

I still pay the expedited fee. The reason for this is they will ship it ups to the post office, then another few days of the post office monkeying around before i get delivery. UPS is way more dependable.
