If it comes down to it, I will sell you my spare ST90 engine before you spend that kind of money on one gear. Its a 1975 motor with three-up shifting if it someday interests you. Rebuilt, ready to go.

Thanks Rick! What an amazing offer hopefully I won't have to take you up on it but I will let you know.
Take care

I have easily spent over 5 years looking for a part. TL's had several optional parts one being a tire pump that mounted on the frame. I had the NOS pump and the NOS upper mount could not find the lower mount any where but I never gave up. Finally two top mounts and two bottoms showed up at Western Hills. Bought them all. Different than your problem though because I could still use mine. Your between a rock and a hard place since you have to rely on someone's word that he'll make good. I am surprised though that only the ST used that gear

Hi Gary, yeah it's a shame that it's a part that makes the bike work and is pretty scarce. I have another 70's bike that I have a load of spares for that I got as a joblot. It's already paid for itself. It's always wise to have spares of hard to get parts for sure
Take care

Ugh! Just heard back from Gary Lewis and he said he can't help :(
I'm not sure if he is just unwilling to sell it to me? When he sold me the last one he said he wasn't going to just sell me that gear and said I would need to buy other parts which I did because I needing them anyway.

That is easier said than done Tripod. I can't seem to find any locally
Limiting yourself geographically is going to complicate your task. IMO, the whole point of searching online is that it allows access to rare parts that are scattered far & wide. You'll probably get quicker results searching for a used/junk engine. ST90s didn't sell in huge numbers...that's why Honda pulled the plug after a mere 3-year production run...leaving a small pool of replacement parts.

Hi Racerx, I'm not really sure what you mean? I have been searching globally. I have contacts in Europe and anyone with a site in english or that can be translated to english, I've been checking. I've already order parts from CMSNL in the Netherlands. If you are talking about an engine, I'm not sure that I would trust that plus pretty expensive to shipping. I've already purchased a whole transmission off ebay and the gear I needed was toast so that was a waste of time.

Sandra was poking around today (it’s a vacation day) looking for your part and a few of my own. Ended up on cmsnl again and a part that I’ve been looking for, for a while was there. I snatched it up. Keep checking, availability does change - any luck with that contact I sent you?

Hi Scooter, I've got that both part numbers on a watch list for both CMSNL and David Silver so hopefully it will come up... eventually!
Glad you were able to find the parts that you wanted and unfortunately the contact you provided didn't have the part or any other leads. My mechanic emailed today after I chased him that he may have a lead on the part but he won't know until the 2 September (the person is on holiday). I think this is just another way to cause further delays really as we are coming up for 6 months since I dropped off my bike to have the transmission fixed. It is pretty disgusting the way some garages treat their clients up here in BC, Canada. They talk to you like they are doing you a favour, but really without clients, they wouldn't have a job! Sorry for the rant I'm just soo fed up with the situation now especially after having to wait so long and him having all the parts to do the job and still I don't have my bike and summer is gone. Thanks for all of your help and taking time to look for the part on your vacation. It's nice to know there are still decent people out there. Take care Sandra

Visiting my daughter and her boyfriend. At night we go for a walk around the nearby park/lake and he hunts Pokémon On his phone along the way. Last night I said to him funny how you hunt Pokémon and I hunt motorcycle parts for enjoyment.
