Funny. Being a Musician I really get along great with other Musicians, even if their favorite Genre is different than mine. Here if you bring up something cool, like the new CT125 ABS, or my Honda XR70R with Lifan, even in the Lifan Forum, or something that might have a previous thread, and you might find it if you look long and hard enough, you don't get any replies, and basically not even any interest, even if many probably know the answer because they've been helped by racerx before. Case in point "S65 carb woes, with talk about Compression testers and using wide open throttle when testing. I asked if that makes a huge difference because I didn't do that when I tested my compression. Zero replies after 4 days. Others of my posts might get tons of views, sometimes, but no replies, so you have to wait until racerx or OldCT sees it. Otherwise, crickets. So my question is.
Lol. I already know the answer. BANNED! ha ha. Can't unfollow you, so I'll just get myself banned.

i don't know much about CT 70's or even my SunL to answer many questions which makes me more of a look, read, and learn kind of guy

Same boat. I learn but don’t retain much. There are a few members that reply often and some if your questions are in their wheelhouse.

Not really sure what you are talking about, I find it to be a great community here.
If you don't get any answers, try rephrasing it.
Many of us here don't answer unless we have a good answer, it makes this a better community.
I think it is better because you are not getting BS answers from somebody that has no idea what they are talking about.
An S-65 is a rare bike. I doubt many have even heard of it. Certainly many less have any working knowledge of them.
Maybe that's the problem?

That is a tough one. I had a S65- still have the engine sitting on my storage bench. It was no more than 5 years old when it turned up and was already beat to an inch of it's life. Never had a problem like his and I even had that carb mounted at a weird angle when I put that engine in my Z50. Last time it was running I had just used the intake off my 70 and have since passed the original carb to another S owner-so I'm no help there. That is even a strange setup as you can see in the picture below,the carb is rigidly mounted to the frame using a flexible tube to connect it to the manifold. It is a 18 mm carb. Other than the larger carb and external oil lines they are pretty much interchangeable with a 50 or 70. They were Honda's first use of the single cylinder OHC engine we all now know. They were a 4 speed manual rated at 6.1 hp at 10K

When I wrote the thread for spinner cleaning, I got a ton of replies, but it was MONTHS before I got any feedback that someone had used it. Sometimes it takes awhile to get a response. This forum is a treasure trove of info on these little bikes. Its actually kinda rare that someone has a question that hasnt been covered before. Your S65 carb woes is one of those. I didnt reply right off because it was boggling my mind what the problem was, so I thought about it and just replied what I personally have experienced. Sometimes I've had to walk away from bikes/cars for a bit because I was SO frustrated. racerx has stated before that the fix is simple, but knowing what to do reduces the hairline....so so true.lol. Not just racerx and old ct, but there are a few that deserve mention here also. Kirrbby has been an immense help with parts to MANY people and his "sage" advice. He's saved my monkey ass a few times.lol. I wish hornetgod was around more often with his gorgeous resto's. I cant remember all the members here that deserve mention, but rest assured they are not liars/BS'ers and that, in itself, is a tremendous help.

I guess you didn't read my whole post. It was a generic question that referred to a person saying that he, 'Of Course' opened the throttle wide open (WOT) when doing a compression check' and I didn't do that when I checked mine and wanted to know why they did that and if I should redo mine doing that.

Not on the ones I follow. Usually way more people replying than just Old CT and racerx. I follow, Avalanche Owners, 212 Predator Engines, Fender Bass Guitars. Honda XR's. Only,and that's about it. I get answers almost immediately on those forum. Many of my questions here are never answered until OldCT or racerx sees them. EVEN if it's the Original Poster who commented something that I had a question about....Crickets. Like the S65 question where I replied to a response asking the reason they said they did WOT when doing a Compression Check. Never mind. Everyone doesn't have a good answer and it's proven my opinion and experience right as everyone just is defensive. I can post something that's should be easy. Like, 'What's the Spark Plug gap on a 1970 CT70KO. I'll get tons of views, but no answers. It's right in the TOPIC headline so why view it if you don't know the answer when it shows no replies??? From now on IF I keep my CT70 after I get my new CT125ABS I'll just PM OldCT or racerx. I wish they'd start a FB Page.

i read your question but i haven't done a compression test in like 45yrs

I felt the need to respond since the thread the OP is talking about in his first post (S65 carb woes) is mine - there might be some confusion so I just wanted to make it clear that I'm not the original poster of this specific thread. I find posts like this completely unnecessary and childish. To the OP of this thread @Korbon_Dallas, I’m sure you’re long gone but to echo some of the replies here: yes, it’s a small community since for most of us these bikes aren’t daily riders but just something to tinker on. Especially with a model like the S65, owners are fewer and therefore the knowledge base is smaller than usual. For simple questions as to why you should hold the throttle open when doing a compression test, you'll find a myriad of answers with a simple google search. To take it personally when someone doesn't reply right away (much less to start an accusatory thread about it) is just silly.

Ow yeah. You didn't even answer my question. You said to, "Find it on Google". This is so ridiculous it's actually amusing! I'll check back in a couple more weeks to see someone else who accused me of something they'd find out wasn't even true if they bothered to even read my reply.
