Options close to Candy Topaz Orange

Hey guys,

I wanted to see what you all have tried using or have knowledge around re creating a close representation of Candy Topaz Orange.

I am trying to achieve something close to the original color, but would be something I would do myself with my paint gun or by a solid prep. / process rattle can effort.

Options I have looked into:

Dupli-color Burnt Orange MET (EBSP21100).... looks like copper in person..
Dupli-color Orange Mist MET (BNS0503)
Duplicator-color MC205 (Orange Metal Cast Anodized Color)
Kustom Canz (Candy Orange)
————————
Prismatic Powders (illusion Orange)

Any info around this would really help.

Take your Topaz Orange bike frame into any reputable automotive paint store and set the entire frame front and center onto the cash register counter. In short order, a person with a very large spiral ring of color options and choices will appear and will ask you questions. Your answer will boil down to one of three choices on the spiral ring with minor changes for metal flake, single stage rattle can or two stage spray gun, etc.

That person will then disappear into the back of the store to prep you a free color spray out for your approval or further change. This is exactly how things played out for my 73 Mighty Green ST90 and it should be very similar at just about any other automotive paint store on the planet.

I dare say they will get excited to see your bike frame sitting on the counter. They certainly did at my local Sherwin Williams Automotive Paint store. I later brought this bike back for the store manager to ride in the parking lot.

thanks for that reply but i was actually hoping top get the code from b52 on his spray of his bike- i am a painter by trade - automotive and i have already tried the scan - nope - so it was important to see what b52 had found . i understand there is a garbage company that uses a similar fleet color but i am after the code

OK, here you go . . . .

You can search for it in the Sherwin Williams paint computer under:

5A-00076-208583-C (208583)
Code: G31 Mighty Green 1970-1976 Honda

It needs an etching gray primer and its about $25 a can for the green. Or, simply carry your entire bike frame into their store and have them match you some paint under the base of the air cleaner - that paint sees no sunlight.

Since your probably going to blast the frame anyways and remove the VIN tag, I would get the paint sample from under that tag.
