55 mph from a 88cc?

Just finished tinkering around and breaking in a 72 3 speed auto engine 6 volt CDI engine # 222250 I built years ago and socked away. I had it going 53 with a few more mph left. 40mph all day. This engine rips! Anyone looking for a strong engine to go in a K1 frame, I have a solid 88cc runner the will hang with a Lifan125! PM me for the details.

Stock head with a quality valve job, new valves, ported, better cam. 6volt CDI conversion kit. No points, A very BRIGHT headlight, worthy of night time riding. It has a 20mm intake and a vm20 carb.
Genuine Honda dratv timing components, D.I.D. 82 link chain, not the cheap aftermarket kits. New clutch discs/plates with hd springs.

All of the above modifications heartily contribute to the overall speed, but Old CT forgot to include a pic of the street that he lives on, it has a slight incline....:whistle:

sweet I am thinking I want to take this path as well.

What cam did you purchase? Where is a good place to get the 6volt CDI conversion hit and Bright headlight?

Sorry for all the questions, but not sure how you got to this spec.

LOL! I don't live in Easton P.A. anymore. I live in South Carolina, no big down hills and it was on a 50mph ''country'' flat road.
I bet you are testing/tuning your snow blower dirtbiker...:LOL:

It was a SL70 or a mini monster cam, It's been a few years since I built it. Not a full race cam. It revs up real quick without a real lumpy idle.

I used it several years ago and the cam walked in the head, if the bearing journals are in really new condition it might stay put. I don't recommend it. There are better hi lift cams to use that you do not need to press in. A SS50 6 mm lift cam, is one. Not sure who would sell it, as it was quite some time ago.

Is the kitaco cam on webike any good? Im nit really educated on cam specs.

Also, as for the "fast road cam" that has been mentjoned as being the sl70 cam, i cant find a part number. Partzilla lists the same cam for sl and ct70

The Mini Monster is your bet bet Tripod. That would be the closest to the fast road cam. I think the SL70 cam back in the day is different now compared to what you can buy new. It would be the same listing as a CT70 when you look it up now. I have never purchased a Kitaco cam from webikes.

S65 and CL70 had the same cam,14101-035-020 which is a different part number from any other OHC they built. Here are the specs in case anyone has the specs for a SL,H etc. to compare if in fact it tells you anything..... These bikes got their max hp at 10k, max torque at 8.5k

I've looked at several SL70 camshafts and could never see any difference from common CT70 or Z50 cams. I thought I checked the CL70's too...but I'm not sure. I have a couple CL70 heads tho that I can compare when I have some time.

Seems like all of the common cams have a 41 stamped on the right end.

If you click on a thumbnail here it opens up but maybe not enough it seems. For the most part I always use the thumbnail size cuz I'm not sure everyone wants to see a huge picture they might not be interested in :)
