Way ahead of you OC! I've been busy setting up this retractable awning in my backyard for my little outdoor work shop.
I'm gonna put a work bench to the left of the sliding doors and then have my parts washer next to it. I'll strip and prep my 81 JH2 frame, shoot color on it and bake it in the Vegas sun. That awning is 15' x 10' and I put radiant barrier on the top of it which makes it nice to be under.

The gable fan I recently installed to keep my attic cool. I put a big aluminum heat sink on the motor, you can see it (that big loop) to keep it cool. That means my Air Con doesn't struggle and keeps the house cool...
118F, that kind of heat doesn't suffer fools :19:

Bills must still be enormous for the AC. Nothing worse that having a 150 degree oven over you head at night, amazing how sucking the heat out and circulation makes a difference. Here in the Midwest temps are about 10 degrees below normal.

Your close…. when I first went into the attic and measured the temp, it was 140F! I was livid, because this is supposedly a Energy-Star house. Turns out they don’t insulate between the rafters on the top of the inside roof, just on the floor of the attic.

So I began putting up radiant barrier in the attic between the rafters. I also added the gable fan. The fan kicks on at around 2pm when it’s 105F. It usually turns off around 10pm at night. That Gable Fan makes a HUGE difference, why that’s not a mandatory piece of equipment is beyond me.

My power bills were high prior to that, now believe it or not, they average $150 a month. The other thing I did was put a separate 5000 BTU Air conditioner in the Master bedroom and shut off the big A/C unit at night.

It’s not usually this hot out here; we’re just in a weird High-pressure jet stream with a heat warning for right now. There’s a learning curve to living in the desert, once learned its becomes second nature. The other 8 months of the year are awesome here!

Hoboken claims to be Sinatra's town. It's really not.If you check your history, It is where the 1st WW1 soldiers left for France on the U.S.S.Levian a capured German luxury boat that was painted camo.My grandfather was on that boat in 1917.The Irish and Germans built Hoboken, which is a 1 mi.square town across from ground zero.It was a slum then and in my opinion still is. Now everyone thinks it is great. No parking way expensive and rude people. The most bars per square mile in the state though.Maxwell coffee was there home until the yuppie invasion.Yeah it,s ruined. If you can get a stock 70cc out of 2nd gear without stopping you raced hard.
