man that's a tough situation. you could probably, with some helpers here in the US, get american titles through the state of vermont. it might be complicated, but people here have done it who have never been to vermont. And this would help you document your 'motorcycle' for future use anywhere.

Well you just have do it right before going into it and then its pretty simple though the understanding would be nice DAX in any case even for the people doing the title here.

So that is basically why Racerx is currently building and getting titles of my CT's and that is the plan.

1972CT70K1 and a 1970Z50K2. Both still need ALOT of work. The '72 is titled and street legal.

Well sort of.

In Denmark we had the Honda ST50 DAX coming out in the '70s and it was classified as a moped. There are only a few of them and after my experience with one I decided to import my first CT70 KO to Denmark which I did. However I did not think much about the Danish registration laws which basically means that I could ride it around and people would say nice DAX. A Dax moped is not allowed to more than 30 km't an hour so a 70cc CT70 would be classified as an illegal ST50 moped if you get stopped by the police. Now the police is not any more clever than to say its a DAX and of course you have to explain which then goes into some time spend for them to realize my actual sort of crime which is riding a non registrated motorcycle. Other than that they will confiscate the top end and maybe the cylinder as its not the allowed 50cc Dax.

I was never stopped by the police and the KO got sold and back to the US.

If I want a CT70 in Denmark the proper way is to get a CT70 with registration paperwork done at some point. Then I can just title it as it should as a motorcycle. The laws are the same procedure in Denmark but non paperwork is rather difficult to deal with for them for some reason.

Then my goals of having the CT70 of choice being totally rebuild and Racerx does great work from what I know and have seen. The KO was riding well but 6 out of 10 on the 90% original look.

Buy the 88cc top end kit that's marked 49 cm3 on the cylinder.

That would be an idea but in order for a ST50 Dax moped to run 30 km't an hour max they make they reduce the intake hole in the topend to 8 mm or so. If the intake is bigger than allowed they confiscate the topend as its not legal and you will get a ticket for that. Depending on police you might get away with just loosing the topend and yes a 49 cm3 cylinder would fool them if you were nice to them.

All mopeds in Denmark had the same rule with 30 km't an hour max and every brand and type of moped were restricted to that.

And about Vermont. No titles from Vermont for our bikes - a plate and registration only. But these two things can sure help get a title from your actual home state.

There is a psychiatrist somewhere that would surely LOVE to do a case study on some of us here.

Two CT90 and two ST90 bikes

i'm guessing one of two outcomes after the first 5 sessions:
1) "i think you'd be better helped by someone else"

or

2) "hey i just bought my first ct70!"
