Who's out for a ride this weekend?

Hopefully Larry again..

Larry how long is this ride you can do?

It's only about a 10-15 mile round trip. Depending if I stop at Dairy Queen or not.
Or 15-20 mile ride if I ride to lake st.clair in addition to dairy queen and the trails!
when I ride to lake st. Clair I go to the very end of south river road to the boat launch ramp. That is entertaining to say the least! Good times!

My 11 & 12 year old girls first time out on a real trail ride today. They had big fun and quickly learned that mud, gravel, and water is much trickier than neighborhood streets.
I was very proud of them. They were both careful and we picked our way thru some pretty gnarly trails without any mishaps.

That's pretty awesome Dan. You should take every opportunity to ride with them while they're young. Then maybe they'll still be riding with you in 15 years. Are they enthusiastic about riding or do you have to coax them a little? When my daughter was young she liked the quad and the z50. But then at about 13-14 she kinda shied away from it. She got a little too cool and girlie for it I spose. Now she's 29 and rides shotgun with her hubby. He's a Harley guy. She's just a little uncomfortable, intimidated maybe, to have/ride her own bike. I'm plannin to fix up a Z50 K2 for her and her family to play around on. I think she'll like it.

Kirb, at this point they're both very into it, no coaxing involved. I'm sure that will change soon enough tho with teenage years just ahead. Note the difference in the amount of water the KO front tire displaces compared to the XR70 in the above photos, ha !
A Z50 gift for your daughter is a great idea. I also have a married 25yr old daughter who would love nothing more than her own trail bike.

My daughter needed the coaxing. Her little brother was all in and would climb right over her head to ride anything with a motor. Problem is I didn't coax her often enough, or give her enough opportunities to ride. She didn't get enough to get her hooked, or allow her to get hooked on her own. Maybe she never would have anyway. I should have helped her a little more to at least be comfortable to pilot her own if she took the notion. She is a good strong woman now, but every little more confidence is a good thing.

Great pictures. My daughter rode with me quite a bit at about there age, though through her teens years she kind of let it go. Now she is 21 and has been asking me to go riding, we've went twice in the last month!

I was just lazing around when my brother came by early in the morning and suggested we go riding while it was still cool outside. The K1 came to mind that I had been wanting to see some gravel backroads for awhile, so off we went and he took my sons XL80. We probably went 30 or so miles round trip. It dawned on me that he and I haven't ridden bikes together for probably 25+years. The 80 ended up with a rear flat not too far from home and the K1 lost its throttle retainer screw when I popped a wheelie before I put it up. I nearly lost control of it.lol.
This little abandoned road is really rough and just used for farm field access, but it's always been fun to ride on. There was lots of mud in some places too.

BTW, both of us were surprised to find out the K1 will slowly overtake the XL80:21:. There's gotta be something wrong with it. I also need to find out why the K1 rolls a whole lot easier than my HK1:43:. I think the different compound tires are making a quite a bit of difference.

Not on the trail but in my back yard. Had a BBQ for the family on Saturday and once the bikes came out they wouldn't stop until we got rain. Nephew and his daughter on the 70.

A couple of friends and I went to Suntop Lookout near Mt. Rainier. It was the first time I had my CT out on a trail... Nice ride...

Awesome shot of Mt. Rainier... I was posted to Fort Lewis and visited Rainier whenever possible during the warmer months. One time, three of us 11-Bravos in "Cold Steel Charlie" hiked up to Anvil Rock near 11,000', several thousand feet above Paradise Lodge, and hung out there on the rock for a while (drinking beer). Like complete dumb@$$es, we forgot sunscreen, and the sun didn't feel THAT hot, so we stripped down to shorts only and proceeded to catch the worst sunburns I've ever seen in my life: all three of us looked like freakin' Maine Lobsters by the time we returned to garrison. And THAT was in the early '80s... I can only imagine how BRUTAL the UV rays are up there nowadays, with the planet's atmosphere so much thinner due to man's activity. Not to mention countries like China which have ZERO EPA REGS, the factories spewing countless metric tons o' cr@p into the atmosphere. Meh, I won't even get started on those Third World holes, I have enough on my plate anyway with Little Wing undergoing treatment. Just wanted to tell y'all that those are some awesome monkeybiking shots... the family bonding shots tell me that perhaps there's still a faint ray of hope for the human race, LOL.

Took the K1 out today for some serious backroad mileage. The best bike is the bike you can truely ride and ride anywhere. There is some really beautiful farmland out here in NEA Okla.

Like Larry's pic, mine is not on the trail, but at a local Classic/Antique Cruise-In a couple of weeks ago. There were more bikes there than appeared in the pic. I'll get a pic down by my boat dock this weekend to post.
