Hey thanks.

The buyer is in New Hope, Pa.

Does anyone have contact info for shippers ? It will be shipped from California to Pennsylvania.

Uship or haulbikes may be your best option. Haulbikes will be the range of $600 ish. I've used Uship a couple of times without any issues. Basically, Uship is like a reverse e-bay where you list the shipment and different "shippers" bid for the business.

Why are you organising shipping? Typically thats the buyers responsibility.
I usually do this, including building a crate, if necessary. And yes, it's largely a thankless task. But, it also expands your market, meaning higher selling price.

Haulbikes is the easiest, no crate required and they have their own dedicated, enclosed, trucks - very professional. The compromise is their timeline which can be several weeks.

If you can build a crate, a number of LTL haulers can be used and a Z50 requires a very small crate. I'd estimate 2x3x4 feet would do the job. Forward Air will probably haul a crated Z50 for around $200-250; they're a bit difficult to deal with...USPS money orders only, for payment, exact amount only, unless you open an account with them.

Uship has worked for me but, again, the bike must be properly crated and the hauler will probably be a private guy with a pickup truck and an open trailer. The drivers I've met through Uship have been real salt-of-the-Earth types, usually early retirees looking to subsidize road trips. I've always wondered about the insurance angle, though.

Thanks Racerx.

I am not really organizing it. Neither one of us has shipped a bike before. I told him I would ask some of the minibike specialists online and get a couple phone numbers or websites.

The buyer is a really nice guy. We are just working together.

That's kinda what I thought...cool beanz! There are a lot of nice folks out there, many of them buying & selling (not just riding) Hondas.:4:

If you're stuck, or need some ideas on crating, feel free to PM me.

Ive used Uship several times and each were enclosed trailers or vans. Ive never needed to crate and we just rolled it in and tied it down. Maybe I got lucky with the shippers whom Ive chosen? One pulled up in a 24ft enclosed trailer full of other bikes headed west and added mine to the collection.
As for Forward Air, the tracest scent of fuel would put an end to that deal quickly. Im good friends with the guys at Service Honda and when they build and test their 500s, they use a "shop" carb and tank, and then put the real stuff on afterwards as theyve been flagged for fuel smells, even though the tanks/carbs were bone dry.

Big Red, I've just PM'd you on the same. As I recall, I think part of the bidding process on uship allows for, or identifies the type of transporation, enclosed or not. Many of the bids are very reasonable.

With Haulbikes, you know you're getting enclosed transportation, specifically geared toward bikes. Uship is kinda the Uber of shipping, the equipment varies, that's all. If you can specify enclosed trailer only, you should be good-to-go. I've not had any bad experiences with Uship but I've either been on the receiving end, or the recipient has made the arrangements and handled the crating.

Contact ShipStuff LLC out of Tuscon AZ (tell them I sent you lol). For a z50 they will put in in their pick up (that hauls a trailer) for a good price. Just have to see if they are coming all the way out to PA.

I have used Uship many times with no problems what so ever. All bikes came in the condition they were sold in. One guy broke down and was delayed quite a while but I got a good deal out of him delivering the three bikes for me.

For a z50 across country I would expect $400 or so. But throw it up on USHip, and a lot of people will just ask what you are willing to pay, and they will meet that if they can. I ALWAYS buy extra insurance when shipping through USHIP.
