Help on Electrical Issue

I have a CT70HK1 with a lot of new parts and having an issue with the tail light and brake light. The tail light comes on with the key as it should, but when I squeeze the front brake lever, the tail light goes out rather than the brake light (2nd filament) coming on. The rear brake pedal has no effect on the tail light and also does not turn on the brake light. All other electrical items are functioning properly. The front and rear brake switches are new from CHP, as well as a new aftermarket tail light from CHP. Anybody have any ideas on what could cause this? Thanks in advance.

Is it a 6volt bulb installed and not a 12volt?

Yes, I just double checked it, but thanks for the reminder.

Double check your ground to the tail light housing.

I would start by triple checking ALL of the connections that pertain to the brake and taillight, including the BL switches. Make sure there are no wires crossed. Also make sure you don't have a brake light switch that's stuck...always on.
