Newest additions

Got on a mini buying binge and picked up 4 bikes recently.
a nice original emerald green CT 70 HKO. Had new tires put on. NOS exhaust. Possibly headlight bucket paint.
a nice original rider topaz orange CT 70 HKO new seat.
a very nice original z50 k1 silver tag in red all original
and a stellar original sl70 ko in aquarious blue - will arrive shortly.
will post vins later with some pics.
the blue SL is a once in a lifetime bike. I've been looking for a nice original for quite some time. Glad to have the new additions but needed to get rid of one so I am sold one z50k1 restored in blue.
I once ran into one local SLk1 when I went to look at a XL70K2. The fella had a drop dead mint k1 in blue. At the time I didn't have much money (and didn't know better) he first told me 2500 and then turned around and said 3,000 because he remembered a friend would buy it for that. I tried to talk him back down to 2500 and like a dummy, I didn't do the 3k. I'd spend that in a hearbeat now, the bike only had 20 miles on it. Was just beautiful...I'll never see another orginal like it again. The KO I purchased is close, but has 4xx on it and the original buyer painted the chain guard. I'll leave it like that tho, it looks fine that way. also have a few frame scuffs and the exhaust has some scuffing. no dents on the bike and original paint is nearly flawless. Comes with Speedo, and the shock support.

Whoa, those bikes look showroom, LOL. Nice scores... wondering whatcha paid for 'em, not that it's any of my business, 10-4? I know I already have some coin invested in my FrankenBike, but it's worth every penny to me... every time I blast down down some Mogollon Rim trail, I thank my lucky stars that I randomly purchased my bike back in, er, I can't even remember when I bought it, LOL. But it sure is fun, and I've ridden full-sized dirt bikes all my life... probably never go back to 'em, since these minis are so much easier to handle, as far as loading & transport go. I can fit my Z50/140 in the back seat of the Camry (tarp goes down first, LOL), and the 125cc pit bike goes on the cargo carrier behind the rig. I was gonna buy a truck to transport both bikes, but I wound up buying a hitch and cargo carrier for $200, since I'll probably get another 100K miles out of the Camry, if it doesn't blow a head gasket first, LOL. When both bikes are loaded, the car looks like a Beverly Hillbillies rig, but I don't care, the system works and I saved heller money, aye? Anyway, I digress, just wanted to say: "NICE BIKES!!!" :red70:

What is that "bracket" on the front forks, just over the tire, on the SL70? I don't think I've seen that before.

Haha, thanks for the reply. Paid enough...that's the term for overpaid haha.
The SL 70 is one I didnt think I did.
Yeah, these little bikes are the best.... I go in spurts... buy a few bikes every 3 or 4 years while always keeping an eye out.
Enjoy the franken bike man, and thanks for reply.

That's a rare Honda shock support. I've never seen one on a bike either. That's what those little pin holes on the shocks are for. It's an optional part. Killer nice bike!!

Nice! I keep a good eye out for CTs and don't remember seeing any of those. I guess I need to look harder. I have heard from my brother that Honda CTs pop up frequently in the Des Moines Register (which I don't check).

Those were all the rage back in the day especially on Japanese bikes, kept their wimpy forks from twisting. Kinda of a weird idea, you mount the fender high to keep mud from jamming up between it and the wheel then you put on a fork brace and the mud gets stuck in it and the wheel  Google Vintage fork brace and you will see all the different kinds under images

Agree Gary, kind of a solve one problem and create another. I suppose it was ok without the muddin.

Finally got the SL yesterday. Everything looks fantastic. The front fender bracket was painted black. The owner wanted to do a bit of customization. He painted it black and a area on the chain guard silver.
The black was a pain to remove but got it off and looks great. Tried the silver and its coming off super easy. I just need to remove it so i can get it all. All in all just a wonderful bike. The cables and plastics, tires, wheels - everything looks like its brand new. Muffler has some rubs in the back but going to leave as is. No dents..could hit with some spray but nah..ill leave it. A true time capsule.

That is amazing. I was a little too old by the time they came out and had got a 71 SL125 so they were off the radar. Soon after that I had a CR250. They sure had something for everyone, those were the days.......
