Looking for the top half of a PB36 or PB37 for some parts. Mainly I am looking for the spring that sits between the choke cap and the choke lever. Additionally, if available, the choke bar - mine is functional, but damaged.

Wonder if the parts would interchange with a new pz19 on ebay for $11.16 shipped from Daytona Beach. I would take the gamble.

I had wondered about that but would use that as my very last resort. However, I just scored a mostly complete PB37 on FleaBay that was incorrectly listed for a 72' for cheap - dude wanted $119, I offered $25 and he accepted with no hesitation. Go figure, I post a wanted ad and I find what I am looking for elsewhere... Never fails!

Lol.

Funny that he accepted that offer...funny also, that you offered it.

Murphy isn't necessarily your adversary.;)

Here's the only new, OEM, setup I could find.

At this price level, I'd take a chance on a PZ19, as Pat suggested.

Thanks for that, I had forgotten to check Beatrice! Yeah, next step would be a PZ19 if the OEM carb ($25 shipped) doesn't work out - I don't mind having spare carb parts around either way.

I just noticed that the carb I bought has two screws holding the butterfly on unlike the one woodscrew ((n)) holding my current butterfly, we'll find out when it shows up next week what model it is...

Goodness $119 asking price for a carb? Thats like the one guy asking $5000 on ebay for a ct70 roller.

I have a carb from a 77 that i wont be using but apparently that wouldn't work for you. Its probably the same carb that fit the k0, k1, k2, k3 etc.

Yeah, not sure what model number a 77 would be, but it should have a square bowl like previous models.

As luck would have it, I received the ebay carb, and right off the bat I noticed how big it was... 100% identical to my PB36, just larger! Turns out it is a 140cc carb off of a Kawasaki. :( PZ19 time for parts...

So late last night I remembered that one of the bikes I picked up years ago had a PZ19 carb on it. I took it apart and it is almost a direct fit for the PB36. The PZ19 choke spindle was 3 to 4mm shorter then the Keihin, which concerns me for long term use, but still worked. The choke plate was a different shape and would not work. The choke spindle return spring, whether or not it was the correct size/shape, works perfect. The spring and spindle were all I needed, the choke lever and cap were replaced with Honda parts. I'll still source a PB36/37 to have for parts and eventually replace the PZ19 spindle with an OEM spindle.

I think I found one. I trashed the carb body last week, but just remembered I extracted a few parts. Pretty sure it was a PB38 but I could be wrong.

The dimensions on the choke bar are:

Shaft ~58.75mm, total length 60.75mm

The spring is missing a tab, about 8mm dia.

Have the screw for the choke flap as well. Drop me a PM and I'll send 'em your way.
