Miles

Do you find this true? A well-kept higher mileage bike is worth much more than a low mileage beater bike.
Copied that from another website.
Looking at a bike with 4500 miles, but i think it would be worth looking for a bike in the same condition with lower miles better.

A low mile original is a valuable bike, only if it looks like a low mile bike. If the speedo says 100 miles, but the bike looks like 10000 miles of hard road, then we'll be calling BS. Low miles, but the nubs are worn off of the footpegs, paint is rubbed off the side covers, tires are off brand, grimey engine, nics & scratches..? A speedo can be changed out, reset, or disconnected so as not to read miles traveled.

A nice bike is a nice bike, even if it has traveled many miles. High miles and good condition shows that someone has loved it all thru the years, and miles.

+1. Also consider the fact that 4500 miles is how far you drive your car between oil changes, typically taking about two months of commuting. Granted on a bike that goes only 45, this represents 100 hrs+ (2.5 work weeks) in the seat, but still not the worst thing in the world. Aesthetics are more important in the opinion of most buyers.
