Great chrome shop price

Got my k1 tail light bracket and the pair of chrome fork rings back from The Chrome Shop in Rock Island Illinois. Total price...................104 chromed and shipped. Can't beat that. Chrome job looks amazing.

Well, a cell phone doesnt take great pics but they look amazing in front of me. The best part is the price. Thought i would share since so many look for reasonable chrome shops. Thanks.

turn around was pretty slow. I think it was about 5-6 weeks. However, being winter time, plus the bike is pretty much a display in my living room, I wasn't in any hurry. To me, the wait was well worth the price and the quality. The tailight was 65 buck but they had an 85 dollar minimum, which means they basically charged about 10 bucks for each chrome fork ring. Can't beat that at all brotha.

Update to an old thread. I recently decided to re-chrome a set of K4-78 bars. I looked at several postings and sent an e-mail to 3 companies that I could find a reference to on this site...if they were still in business. I got a fast response from "The Chrome Shop" in Rock Island, IL, very professional, fast turn around, and reasonable $$ in my opinion, so I decided to give them a try.

Turn around was quoted at 3-4 weeks and $60/bar based on the pics I sent. I did no prep, but they were in pretty good shape. Some light rust at the first bend and no serious metal work was required. They were true to their word. Paid $60/bar + shipping and it took just shy of 4 weeks in their hands.

A day after I shipped, I received an estimate from CMP (Courtesy Metal Polishing). They were $50/bar and 4-6 weeks turn around. I may give them a try next time around.

I am by no means an expert when it comes to chrome plating, so I'm attaching a few pics. I really don't have a lot to compare against, but they look good to me. As always, opinions are welcome.

I had some zamak boat parts done a few years ago by a shop in Ohio I believe,took forever and was very expensive. I then found Courtesy which due to Chicago suburban traffic is only 45 minutes away. I've been in their shop and have had numerous items done there. Very happy with price but also with turn around time,it has always been done when they say or earlier.
Your items look very nice too,if your happy with them I'd just continue with them.

Have you guys seen the video of the brush on chrome stuff yet ?I am not going to search for it because I wouldn’t know how to link it here ,but it’s better than you think and if you believe the video it seems to be pretty easy to use .I think if you google brush on chrome it should pop right up .

A guy local to me has a nice setup to do "spray on chrome". I have seen some of his work it looks EXCELLENT! Like anything else, it has a lot to do with the prep. He even has a stainless steel work tray/sink to catch (and re-use) all the over spray because the silver paint is expensive. Not sure if it's PC Chrome or another variety. But regardless, it's a paint. Probably a great product for non metal objects but not as durable as triple chrome or even hard chrome. It's also not cheap, but I suspect not as expensive as plating.
