No surprise on the award, the bike looks good... if it weren't for those minor scratches on the forks, you might have won first place. I'm thinking there must be some amazing barn finds in Iowa, given the winter weather and the likelihood of folks storing bikes out of the elements. Glad you had a good time, that's what those shows are all about... every time I go to a car or cycle show, I wind up yakkin' with the owners and restorers, LOL. My brother Robert who passed away, he lived in England and he had a collection of British bikes: BSA, Triumph, Norton, even an old Vincent in fair shape which must have been worth some money. Those bikes always generated comments and conversation wherever they went. While still alive many years ago, he gave a 1947 BSA to my brother John, and John would ride that old bike around Coronado & San Diego, LOL. Thing smoked on starting and leaked a little oil (like many British bikes), but it still ran fine and looked totally cool... whenever he pulled up in front of Danny's Pub, a small crowd would gather just to check out the bike, LOL. Plenty of tourists in Coronado, you understand, so no shortage of passersby...
