Noob day, tranny question

I have rebuilt the shocks, brakes, and electrical system.... I am cool with doing the motor as I jave rebuilt plenty. The automatic transmission gives me trepidation. Is it pretty straight forward? Is it easy to do yourself (assuming a good mechanical knowledge)or, should I just drop ot off at Honda?
I have built hot rods from scratch, and my other previous motorcycles, but always manuals.
Any help will be appreciated!

It's pretty simple in a sense. Im in the process of R+R'ing my engine. I felt the same way. I took out the transmission as unit, drum, mainshaft, countershaft. Zip tied it all together to keep it exactly as it came out. Took pictures to document it. For me, having it be my first time, once I sat the assembly on the table, I took a few minutes just to stare at it and orient myself.

As for zip ties, I used plenty. Zip tied the shafts to the drum, zip tied the ends of the shafts to keep the thrust washers in place.

I inspected the teeth on the gears, circlips, and thrust washers. Inspected the shift forks one at a time and replaced them.

Once I was ready to put it together I referenced my pics. Put the cases together and checked for binding. Made sure it moved through all three gears.

There is tons of info available to help you too, if you need it. You can get all the help and advice you need right here on lh too.

Clean all of the shafts that come out of the engine before you start, to make them slide out of the engine a little easier...and cleaner. Then when you split the cases, lay the motor on it's left side. Then you can remove the right side engine case, leaving the transmission and kick shaft in place...so you can see how they belong in the engine.

Also, watch for the thrust washers to be kinda stuck to the engine cases. They belong on the skinny ends of each trans shaft.

The motor should be laying on it's left side when you remove the right/clutch side cover too, for the same reason. Loose bits in there too.

Awesome. After I paint next week, I will set into it. I bought a Lifan 125, bit I am going to put that in my cat eye. I want the CT to be a proper restoration!
