Hi All, thank you for all of the great information on this site! As a newbie my apologies in advance for any incorrect info and dumb questions..
I am finally getting some pictures uploaded so just attached below:
The bike is a 1970(11/10) CT-70HK0 , S/N 141304 that I purchased locally here in SE Wisconsin at a garage sale in 2002 for $400. It definitely has some wear and tear with 2800 miles, but for the most part seems to have all of its original parts and not been badly modified.
With the help of my brother, I did a light refresh around 2012 to clean up the carb, minor tune up, and replace the chain and sprockets. It was running fairly well, but then sat for almost six years as we had two kids and moved to a new house. Now with the kids getting old enough to go for rides I am trying to get it going again.
I presently have the carb apart again to see if I can get it running. If not, or if it runs poorly I haven’t decided yet to try a rebuild-kit or entire replacement carb. Beyond that I am hoping to replace the seat, tires, and hopefully tighten up the suspension as the next steps.
My first bike when I was a kid in the early 80’s was a ’71 SL-70 so this bike reminds me a lot of that when I am working on it!
