Tbolt inverted forks with hydraulic brake

does anyone run this set up? My main concerns are does a regular speedometer hook into the hub somehow? And does the brake have a connection for the brake light sensor? And just general options on this set up. The stock forks are bent and I want to upgrade to this set up.

Toughest issue you're likely to have will be the speedo drive ratio. The Japanese aftermarket drives available all seem to be geared for use with a shorter 3.50-10 tire, which results in slow indicated speeds. If you're sourcing a Chinese speedometer to go with the Chinese front end (and the included speedo drive) everything should be matched. When in doubt, ask the vendor from whom you're sourcing the front end. Or, you could go with a programmable electronic speedometer unit...and get spot-on accuracy, regardless of tire size.

As for the brake light switch, that should be part of the master cylinder/brake lever assembly. Shouldn't have to do much more than modifying the connectors, coming from the harness.

Ahh some of the worries fall into place. I ordered two new kenda 329 on road tires from mytrailbuddy so idk how much that will effect it or not.

And electric speedo? I’m not hip to that is the installation and set up on those difficult? How do they work?

AFAIK they're all 12 volt, so take that into consideration. You'd tap into a (+) circuit that is activated when the key is switched to "on". Both the brake light & horn have feeds inside the HL shell. Next up, you'd install a mount, near the axle, for the speed sensor. Some require a magnet on the wheel, others can use the existing bolt heads, or a single bolt, as a trigger. Either way, there'll be a two-conductor lead to connect back to the speedo head unit; that's actually the easy part, it can be wrapped to the brake hose.

As for the actual speedometer head unit, that depends on your taste and budget. At the low-cost end of the spectrum, Trail Tech is a nice option. You'd get speedo, odo (a.k.a. CT70 fuel gauge), rpm and timer. Last I checked, these were ~$125. I've seen a few K0-style electronic units that fit into a K0 HL shell. They used to be all over ebay for ~$60 a pop.

All of that said, you might wanna just try your existing speedometer with the new cable & drive. It should be plug & play. No idea how close the readings will be. What've you got to lose by testing it?

Got my front end from tbolt the other day. Was highly impressed. It’s way bigger than I thought makes the stock look like twigs. But it should serve it’s purpose for this build. Finished sand blasting yesterday take the frame and swing arm to paint guy today will get back in a month or so. Will post pics when front end is on
