Hey guys... I know this is like calling a doctor and asking the nurse "What's wrong with me?" But I got a 1991 CT70 that was run YEARS ago and then it sat. I just replaced the tank (Thank you Allenp) new lines - cleaned and rebuilt the carb - new plug. I check for spark yesterday and saw spark but it was faint. Couldn't get it started.. it just has a pop once in a while. I walked away from it.... today I checked for spark again..NONE. WHAT would I look for on a newer 1991 CT ?

No.... I have spark... but it won't fire. I get an occasional pop once in a few kicks. I rebuilt the carb and I feel like I did it right... would having the fuel lines on switched lines to the petcock keep it from firing? What seems weird and I KNOW that it's an easy kick... but the kick start motion feels a little light on compression. It MAY need re-ringed. I don't know... I'm a little bummed here... boo hoo....

Have you checked the valve lash. It's very common on a old bike to have never had the valves adjusted. Then as soon as they wear to the max, they begin to leak...compression.
You could put a little fuel directly into the spark plug hole. If it fires up and runs for a few seconds, you'll know that you have a fuel/carb problem.

But even if it were running, you'd need to check and set the valve adjusters/lash. Just because it's a old and unknown bike.
