KSR Forks

Does anybody know the difference between the all the KSR forks(KSR,KSR2,KSR110,KSR125).

How about the newer Z125 forks?

I take it from all I’ve read that the KSR110 forks are the hot ticket but I haven’t been able to figure out why.

I would love to know exactly how they all differ from one another?

Thanks for the help.

i have a set of ksr110 forks on one of my ct's. They are very very nice. They are also taller. I believe z125 forks are very similar, but a little shorter. Grom forks are nice as well. Splicing them onto a CT70 requires work with the trees and stems, so be prepared for an uphill battle unless you pull the easy switch and purchase a set of graft trees from webikejapan.

Due to the high cost, I'm not willing to do what it takes to dissect a pair of each. Best guess is that the lowers, with the axle flanges, are the difference...but...without verification it's a huge gamble.

BTW, you never mentioned anything about the outside configuration of the Grom fork legs. Do they have a bowling pin/Indian club taper?

The uppers on grom forks are bowling pin tapered. My opinion is that there should be enough room to splice a new stem in there compatible with a CT70. I have a complete set here but I'm still on the fence if I'm going to take on a masters thesis project of a full custom ct-inspired frame to mount the engine with these forks or not. If not, a simple stem swap should allow them to be fitted to a CT. Your headlight brackets on that taper will be interesting, but certainly not hateful to a customizer.

HL mounts are relatively easy, with a custom front end. One is limited only be creativity. OTOH those weirdly-tapered fork legs are much more limiting, maybe too limiting.

Those Ksr110 forks look great on your CT70 fatcaaat. The Gcraft trees are awesome. Nice and narrow. I never liked the way USD forks looked on CT70’s. The trees were always too wide and made the bike look off to me. I never considered using them until I saw your build.

Your best guess is good enough for me racerx.

Thank you both for the replies.

I have a line on a nice set of ksr110 forks. I think I’m gonna pull the trigger.
