I wouldn't want to wait till July 2 thru Aug13th to get them. Do you have the installation tool too? You want to get one if you don't now, or you will have to wait another month! LOL!
This one is in the U.S., I thought you would like the ''monkey grip'' feature!

Back to the 'Rim Job' lol:D

Painted one color coat yesterday, and after the first color coat you will see imperfections, like fish eyes, where you bumped the rim while it was still wet or something got on the paint...
100_0164.JPG 100_0167.JPG

Not to worry! You can once again wet sand the paint.... this time its called color sanding. With water added the different colors of paint will 'feather' and blend into a good smooth as glass base coat, from there you repeat coats until satisfied.

One summer, I watched my older brother repaint a 76 Triumph TR6 using wet, dry and color sanding, that car came out great.:sneaky:

The Rims have had their last wet-sand! You can get really ocd with imperfections but I'm all right with them , they're good enough I suppose...
So the last color coats are being put on, now to bake in the sun allday, fun to watch paint dry:sleep:lol
I should get the tires & valves today too.:red70:

Ever take a close look at the original wheels & hubs. There's a reason why "Cloud Silver" was used. You get 3 guesses...;)

I'm pretty stumped on that one but would it be to match the engine's color? Or the overdrip looked like clouds?LOL:LOL:

I Dunno but what I do know is I got my 12" tires today! They are beautiful! My home has that heavenly new car smell!:ROFLMAO: The tires, they look big and meaty.:devilish:Looks like they will do rather nicely.;)

He already peed on the sign while its was on the ground! The rims weren't on it though:eek: but he does lift a leg on my chevy Tracker tires when i pull off in the desert. He doesn't pee on the rim just the tire:D, its pretty strange behavior...

To answer your question on Cloud Silver...it hides all manner of surface imperfections. The stock rims weren't the cleanest stampings of all time...and the hubs are a.) sand castings, b.) very crudely finished. They're well-made parts, just not finely-finished surfaces.

Lucky he doesn't pee on the hood while displaying a bad attitude, LOL...

Have you ever heard of a dog that won't eat swine? This dog won't eat bacon, ham or most sausage... He's part miniature Doberman pincer and the first year I got him in 15' he alerted me one early morning, someone was opening the garage door!

Some fine citizen had a craftsman remote and was driving around clicking it. I got up pushed the button , caught it at half way open and it shut. I was half asleep and just unplugged it.

Good Dog!:sneaky: shitty (old) Neighborhood!:cool::poop:

Got my tire valve tool that OC showed me! Never seen one, Has the long S.F. north beach handle on it too lol,. Looks like the bar uses leverage to pull the valve in place, good deal!(y)

On the construction front: The 'pad' is now being framed for a cement foundation it looks like, meanwhile the golfers keep golfing.

Take one of your spare valve stems and install the aluminum Schrader valve removal caps on it, and crimp it on the valve stem with a pair of pliers so it wont come off, It makes it easier to see in the tool box, and use! LOL! For the next time you need it. You will need to remove the valve of the newly installed stems so you can ''seat'' the bead. Then re install the Schrader valve and pump it up to 30 psi or so.

Hey SportFans!
On the chip front:I was looking at my Amazon order and it was placed last Friday, I get email saying my order has shipped, i figured they'd be here by now, that's surprising.

The rims are still baking in the sun. I broke down and bought another can O color paint to add 2 more coats. My tire irons should be here any day, i want to get the tires on the rims!
Oh yeah I figured I'd paint a 91' grab bar handle while Mojave Max is still working.100_0149 (2).JPG
On the 91 models, you can put two grab-Bar handles, just flip the other on the opp side and it bolt on.;)100_0140 (1).JPG 100_0140 (1).JPG 100_0152 (2).JPG

On the construction front: i may be on a roll here. they paved the road behind and it looks to be an entrance to the community. As of late, we have to drive 1.8 miles around just to getto the front, so glad they are working on that exit, that will save me time & gas.:coffee:

Cool beans Adam!
Are you sure the peg on the grab bar won't hit the seat pan?
Maybe you should weld the peg on the other side...to stick down. Then you could use it to bungie a beer on the seat behind you. Traveler...One for the road...a Roadie.

Lol...probably not recommended here in 2019.
