Matches for CEG color

Anyone have a close match for Candy Emerald Green in a rattle can?

I tried the Metalcast green over their silver base...was waay off. And ugly.
I thought it might look better over a gold basecoat. I remember bc17 talking about his CEG recipe. He was using a gold base. You might search his old posts and find it. Or, if you were to pm him, he might be willing to offer some advice.

I should try the Metalcast again...a actual sprayout(if that's the correct term) ...do a sample on a blank of steel. I don't think I did that before, can't remember now. I know it looked like crap when I touched up a steering stop repair with it. Was better than using purple, but not by much.

I guess I should say that im not so much looking for an exact match to true CEG, but rather a sun faded 50 year old ceg. I'd like to rustomod my HKO and in the process im going to swap out pogo sticks for an K1 setup. Id like to get the paint a close match.

I'd also like to simulate 50 years of wear plus some rust.

There's no way around this...it's going to take some artistry or/and luck, plus time experimenting with different paints and application techniques. Candy colors are almost impossible to match, when there's a standard reference to follow and the same paint/system is used. That's largely owing to the fact that application has such a big impact on the final color. But, once you're talking about faded paint...with "50 years of wear plus rust", it's all guesswork. And without seeing the actual parts (photos absolutely cannot be used to do color matching) it'd be blind guesswork.

Going to a non-original front end, you're never going to find the K1 fork tins to match your aged & faded CEG. So, it's a choice between a color mismatched front end, or a complete repaint.
