CT70 out of storage!

347 miles on her now, been doing some dirt trail riding today.

I noticed after about a week, the Tire pressure in the rear drops a few psi. Like 5psi. I checked the front and it was low too. I'll keep an eye on the front but i think the back tire has a slow leak. I've checked it 24hrs later and it reads the same but after a few days it seems to drop.?

Going from a 110 degrees to 60 degrees will do that. Check the pressure in the Tracker too. Let us know how much they dropped with the recent break in the weather...

Holy Sh*T Batman, I mean OC. I think you're onto something! That would have an affect on tire pressure esp smaller tires. I did check the right front tire on the Tracker and it was low, I'll check the rest. I'll keep tabs on it.

It reminds me of last night around dusk I went into town and while traveling on that 45 mph road I saw this vapor cloud cover one patch of the road. I rolled up my windows, thinking the worst, maybe a spill or something. It turns out it was fog. I haven't seen fog in fifteen years. No fog in Vegas. I forget we are at 2700 ft, and it did reach the 50s early morn lately. that's a big step from triple digits weather just last week, good call OC.

My bikes and cars do the same every year.
Been hot n humid here in NEA Oklahoma, until a few days ago. Today, my central heater kicked on.

Waiting for some weather changes here in Florida. After about two and a half weeks of love bug infestation, they decided to leave. Can't stand those flys.

My new minibike tires on the green bike went from 30 to 19psi. Y'all remember when I installed them. Not very long ago. I just pumped them back up yesterday, and have been checking all the cars and other bikes that get ridden often, going back a few weeks now. P.S. the line for air was 6 cars deep yesterday for free air @ WaWa! F that! I rode greenie home and dragged out the compressor!

My new 12' rims are so compact, only a telescopic air press gauge will fit it! My two other round face gauges wont fit the valve.
Finally located mine in a pencil holder! It looked like a pen in there! Tire pressure is big time important, esp on two wheels.
I dig this rOctober cooler weather, cruising through it is a blast.

Yeah, I'm diggin' the cooler weather here as well... that's what's nice about living at elevation in the high desert, the summers aren't that bad and the fall temps are like paradise!!! Spring is awesome here too, the winter temps drop a bit but cold weather doesn't bother me the way hot, humid weather does. I've spent a lifetime in the field, and layering solves most cold-weather problems, along with good boots & gloves. Dunno if you'll be using a wood-burning stove this winter, but if you are, those red & black welder's gloves from the Depot work GREAT for handling firewood!!! They're well-insulated too, so it can be 15 degrees out and your hands will be toasty warm, LOL.

Thanks CR, this is going to be my first winter here in the higher altitude (2700ft) and in the shadow of these mountains, I'm not quite sure what to expect. No chimneys or wood burning stoves ! I do remember the builder saying that a heater failure could be deadly, so make sure you have one that works!

We have central heating and it's all electric. If the electricity goes out then you freeze and die i guess. I still don't own a good winter coat. No regrets moving here, this house is great and it is way cooler than Vegas.15 years living there in that heat, i couldn't be happier.

Yeah, plus Vegas has gone downhill BIG-TIME, last time I passed through (earlier this year) the place looked really bad, not like I remembered it from the '90s, and there were a gazillion zombie trolls wandering the streets... looked like the set of a C-grade zombie apocalypse film, LOL.

When I lived in Show Low, which lies between 6300' and 6400' depending upon which side of town you're on, I learned that shade & shadows make a BIG difference in wintertime... standing in the sun on a cold day, it felt 30 degrees warmer than standing in the shade, 10-4?

Those mountain shadows will make a difference, even at 2700'... you'll want to put a bench or chair in a sunny area, or where the sun first strikes or last shines, so you can sit out there and enjoy the warmth. Throw a Mexican blanket or whatever on the seat, folded up for thickness.

I used to drink hot tea or coffee on a glider seat in my yard, a blanket folded and draped across the seat, and the morning sun would stream down through gaps in the trees and warm that spot nicely... I swear, there could be snow on the ground with the temps in the 20s or 30s, but that sunny spot felt like 60 degrees, LOL.

I'm at 3600' here in Benson, but I've been seriously considering flipping this home and buying another down by Sierra Vista, where there are more job opportunities. I'd lose my view of the Stronghold, but I'd probably be closer in terms of driving or riding time, due to access issues on BLM land.

Sierra Vista is up around 4400' in elevation, and it's at least eight times the size of Benson, hence more work opportunities. Weather isn't much different from here, elevation is the key to comfortable living in the high desert. And if I flip this home, I'll buy a full-sized dirt bike or Enduro and start riding again.

Southeastern Arizona gets 300+ days of sunshine per year, great for riding bikes!!! In fact, there are heaps of riders in this area, everything from road bikes to dirt bikes, plus quads and some pretty burly side-by-sides that can handle just about anything, LOL. Bad@$$ side-by-sides, but they can get expensive...

Anyway, I reckon you're better off where you are rather than still living in Vegas, I couldn't believe how run down the place looked when I passed through that burg. I spent one night in some fleabag motel there, and every last room renter there (besides me) looked like a tweakin' crackerhead... living there full-time off Tropicana Boulevard would've been a nightmare, worse than a friggin' jail sentence, LOL.

GOTTA RUN, BUT YOU'RE DOING THE RIGHT THING, LIVING WHERE YOU ARE... I LIKE THIS AREA OF ARIZONA, IT SURE BEATS LIVIN' IN THE BIG CITY.

Oh well at least i can say i lived in Vegas when it was 'Old Vegas'. When it still had a Main street, Freemont St & the Vegas blvd strip. Now downtown main is a 'business center' Fremont St. is still there but the strip has mucho 'homeless douchebags. Wait till the Raider nation hoodrats relocate and it'll look just like Oakland bay area i left 15 yrs ago.

I come Full circle. So that's why I moved outta there and Glad to be here @2700ft ; cause zombies don't do Cold, God Bless the USA for being Free to move!

Yeah, any kind of elevation is nice, and mountains add to the scenery... we're having perfect fall weather here, nights crisp and cool, daytime temps dropping down to the lower 80s, not much humidity so the temp feels good. I sure don't miss all the smog, traffic, crime, etc., found in any big city... ugh. And the stars at night are magnificent, some of them are so bright they look like LEDs!!! Got a full moon coming up too, so one can walk around at night and still see pretty well... that clear air works both day & night, LOL.

Decided to change the Oil at 352.4. It was black and dirty. Probably the screen needs a clean now..., been doing some engine braking on it and some speed runs as well. I went with the 4 stroke Valvoline Oil and afterward went for a cruise. hit around ~40 Mph. The carb issues are over, doesn't bog, idles great, It's running strong and fast & shifts wonderfully. Hondas 72cc are bulletproof.

My muffler was rattling, esp at WOT, i thought it was valve at first!

But right where the clamp secures to the muffler guard. I tightened the # 10 bolt but it was tight. Determined that cushion was all dried & brittle, so I just happen to have a spare. The rear screw also vibrated out and i replaced it, didn't have a black one though but it still works! No more muffler rattling at top speed. Here's the Honda part #

The Honda packing is known to rust out the pipe. Don't use it! Use header wrap...

Use header wrap? I did notice it rusting there, i put some motor oil on it but thanks for the tip. I like to keep the pipe in one piece.

I'm washing it tomorrow, if you see the back tire, some of the desert sand is like talc powder, it sticks to everything and its strangely hard to tell if the sand is normal or like that stuff. Its awful to ride on. Going down a desert trail can get dicey when it turns into that fine almost soot but I can see why a flash flood in that stuff would be bad news .best to avoid...

Pat is right, the OEM insulating material is worse than crap, it rots steel. This is one item where the cheap & chineezy replacement is far superior...but try to find one, without a complete knockoff exhaust. Header wrap is less cumbersome and pricey.

FYI...time to clean the oil spinner. The screen doesn't do much other than strain-out the big stuff...old tires, corpses, chunks of broken gears, etc...none of which should be inside an engine in the first place.

Sounds to me like you're dealing with the same kind of fine dust I pick up when riding through the tip of Michigan's Keweenaw peninsula...only difference is the color. Believe me, that fine abrasive can ruin a chain rapidly. Use a dry lube, that won't turn your chain into "shake-n-bake".

Yeah that dirt is the worst, it almost looks like paint when that stuff gets wet.

Here's my Trail Bike after a good wash! I Agree now that it has 371 miles, the spinner & screen will need their maintenance.

Since your bike has such low miles, I would keep a log journal of all the oil changes, spinner cleanings, ect.

Also, that fine dust must be easily dirtying your air filter. I would clean and oil it often.
