IN STORAGE 33 YEARS !! Original condition '72 CT70 survivor (actually verified as a 1971 first sold and registered in 1972) . Two owner 958 miles with known history.....I purchased from original owner in 2009 with 249 miles, they had stored since 1976! Used by me once a year as pit bike at SCCA Runoffs. Med problem diagnosed last week forces sale. Comes with custom carrier for two inch receiver hitch, books and tools. 1000 mile service recently completed. Without excellent photo documentation, I wouldn't expect much interest, if any. That's not taking any side on this topic. 20+ years into the auction scene, what works is quite clear...and what doesn't work, even clearer.

It’s that easy. Otherwise nobody here is going to take you seriously. Your new lowered price is still very high, even for a ‘72 low mileage survivor.

‘72 models were referred to as K1 and HK1 which included a large sum of updates, including changing from combination headlight speedometer bucket to a separate speedo and headlight, as well as a changed front shock design.
Your bike is a K0 model, made between 69-71. What’s the VIN and manufacture date? Did you convert to a 12v system to support the aftermarket turn signals? Is that an electric start switch on the left handlebar, or is it for the signals? Is the spark plug wire new, or is there another reason why it’s got something zip tied to it? Do you have the title?
A pic of the odometer and a better description of the tools and books you’re offering with the bike would also help. It’s a nice looking bike, but I still think you’re asking $3-4k too much. The price you’re hoping for would be for much more collectible versions, such a ‘69 silver tag, a ‘78 in mint condition, or an original white Dax.

Nothing special about that bike. 300 for a 140 dollar bike carrier? Black widow sells the same exact carrier. No one just fell off the turnip truck here.

VIN is CT70246014. I don't know the manufacture date; The original title showed it as a 1972, so when I purchased it (2nd owner), NM carried that over. I have a clean NM street title and registration.
It is a 6volt system with a 6volt flasher/bulbs and turn signals from another Honda mounted on short arms to existing holes. The switch on the left is an aftermarket turn signal switch, but a Honda CT70 turn signal switch is included for installation. Whatever year/model it is came w/out turn signals, but I installed these to make it NM street legal. Everything can be easily removed to return to original as no holes were drilled.
The spark plug wire is new and covered by a heat sleeve as original became brittle. Pics of books/tools/odo/serial# posted above. The bike was stored by original owner from 1976 to 2009 when I acquired it. It has been lightly used by me since then, with 7 oil changes in the 700miles I operated it. AT 77 years old I got my intended use/fun out of it but can no longer operate it due to lingering damage (sprain + broken big toe) and resulting gout in my left foot. If anyone is interested in a well maintained, low mielage survivor, rather than a hot rodded or rebuilt/restored bike, make me an offer.
I doubt that Black Widow sells the exact same carrier as mine was cut down to fit the CT70 from a larger bike carrier.....I'll gladly take $150 for it if someone buys the bike!

The vin tag is on the right side frame just behind the headlight where the steering pivots. Mine was made 1/71 and has vin 243737. I’m guessing yours is stamped in March or April. It’s very cool that you have the original tool set that came with the bike. That said, eBay reveals no bikes for the price you’re asking, by almost $2k. While I agree your bike does appear to be a well-preserved survivor, your price has more to do with what you need the money for rather than reality. The second issue is your location. I’m not aware of any active member here within 200 miles/3 hours of you, the closest being Coastal Redneck in Dragoon, AZ. He doesn’t have a bike currently, but I highly doubt he’s interested in spending more than a few hundred to get one, if at all. Do you have any grandkids or other family that could inherit it, or is a sale absolutely necessary? I can almost guarantee you’re not going to get many nibbles around here asking for more than $3000. Maybe post an ad on Craigslist for El Paso and Albuquerque and see what happens?

It does appear to be a very nice bike. But, marketing matters and you are shooting yourself in the foot. Biggest market exposure is ebay, hands-down. Getting top dollar, assuming the bike is everything you say it is, requires great photos showing lots of detail, decent ad copy and...finding the right buyer. That last element usually means timing and right now, when half the country is seeing a preternaturally early winter, probably isn't it. Stuff that's hurting you: aftermarket/non period-correct buddy pegs, non-stock turn signals, ST70 grab handle, plug wire sheathing, faded speedo dial face, weird angle of the kickstarter. Consider your (potential buying) audience...mostly folks who know what they're looking for. Your job is convincing them that this machine is the real deal. But, what you're doing is waving a bunch of red flags...that scream "fluffed for ebay". Lose the non-stock parts, repair the plug wire properly (or replace the coil) and post LOTS of clear detail shots and you'll give yourself a fighting chance. The one thing that's going to hurt value the most is that stupid "grab handle": IT IS NOT A CT70 PART and it has probably scuffed the paint at the mounting points. Rectify those issues and I could see this machine eventually fetching $4K+/-. As it sits, 3K-3.5K would be respectable...as-is, you're scaring away most of the serious buyers.

airblazer and racerx, thanks for your observations. The manufacture date on the fork tag is 1/71. The grab handle/turn signals/plug wire are all easily reversible, but as you said the grab handle may leave marks on the paint (OEM painted/threaded holes for European version of CT70), which, after almost 50 years, is not perfect but original and in good shape except for a couple small rust spots on the main crossmember. The plug wire can be rerouted through original clip still in place down by exhaust bend; I only moved when replacing to keep away from exhaust heat. As for kick starter, it has never been moved and starts easily, so not sure about the weird angle?
I am obviously not a great marketer nor an expert on these bikes, just someone who found one in excellent original shape and took care of it, making only small mods that are easily reversible: the turn signals allowed me to register it for the street, the grab handle allowed me to lay it under my tonneau cover in my pickup bed when not on the rack behind the motorhome. I am willing to remove them if a buyer prefers, but I do know from the owners manual that these bikes were designed with folding handlebars and closing gas tank vents so you could lay them in your trunk or carry in an aeroplane. The CT70 "specialist" in Texas who sold me the grab handle said the European CT70s came with it.....No one has commented on the non-OEM soft storage bags (2) or soft cupholder which were vital as I navigated the insides of sports car racing paddocks for 10 years.....they are just tiewrapped on so also easily removable without a trace. The bracket on/under the luggage rack is for a soft folding wagon I towed to carry fuel or a race tire as needed. It is mounted on rubber so as not to damage the chrome and I will include it with a sale if desired.
BTW, the original buddy pegs are on the bike with rubber starting to crack. Could not find OEM, so bought the replacements in case needed to carry a passenger....never used "em.
No grandkids to will it to and I'm also not much of a fluffer/detailer or ebay auctioneer....that's why it's listed here....+, as most folks, I can use the $ (although starvation is not imminent without a sale).

So, taking into consideration everything I've recently learned, I'm dropping price to $3,950 or best offer including the carrier and soft tow behind folding wagon + all books, tools ,parts in pics as desired. Will remove any non desired parts and reroute plug wire to original location if desired, at no charge. Stan, text or call 915-204-3520

I believe it's for the tappet adjustment. It's listed in the parts manual as a 3mm socket. I had never seen one until this summer. An original tool kit came with the CEG H I acquired so I had one to take picture of.
