Hey guys and gals I came across these front fork pipes for sale on EBay this evening and I almost bought 2 of them instantly until I noticed it was 200 each. My pipes are damaged and I haven’t been able to find any reproduction ones yet or any NOS but this seems a little pricey but then again maybe not. If y’all know of any other options or if this is reasonably priced let me know and I’ll go ahead and bite the bullet. Thanks again for all the info.

Maybe try to score a full front end off a bike in the Southwest, then sell the rest. I rebuilt the front end on my k3 which was from Nevada. I gotta say, after struggling with rust on other k1-79 front ends, seeing that these were rust free was like lifting a sweater and being pleasantly surprised.

+1 you could ask them too, they have been around long enough that they are not out to rip anyone off and ruin their reputation

So I just looked closer at the fork from NEVC and they won’t work for me :( I have a K1. I went from super excited to super bummed.

Why won't they work?

AFAIK, only difference between K1 & K2-79 is the lower fork leg. K1 lacks a shallow locating groove for the rubber gator...that would be covered by the K1 lower fork tube cover.

What is different is the gator/trim ring. It has a long extension, on the bottom side, to attach the top of the gator. K1 HL ears & chromed trim rings are unique to the K1 and won't swap with anything else; you'd have to reuse your originals, or source K2-79 HL ears, which isn't easy.
