Hello All
i think the spark arrestor may have been removed by the previous owner , how can i tell for sure , and does removing it change the jetting required for the carb?

Well easiest way to tell is look in the outlet end and if you a small bar cross ways in there it's present. There about $20 from numerous places. They won't affect carb jetting at all but if you ride on forestry land it'll be required.

Got ya , looks like someone removed mine because there's no cross bolt.
There it a short bolt in the end of the pipe that's not holding anything on , is that part of the arrestor?

There IS a bolt that holds the arrestor in, but it threads into the arrestor itself. The bolt that you are seeing is probably just something that Honda put there to use for a carbon clean out..? Remove that screw and rev the bike to blow the carbon out of the muffler...in theory.
