Just picked up a 68 Honda Z50 for a restoration project. I was hoping some one has the paint code for a color called Bright Yellow. Can’t seem to come up with it. Thanks for your help.

I have one for the yellow used in 69/70 in PPG back home that I will be able to post when I get home at Christmas, I think it's the same. I have in the past posted it here but cannot find it. That said I had to replace a broken muffler guard back in the 90's. My local paint supplier who had a very good eye for color match mixed me a pint of Centari using my old part as the guide. Today if I was starting from nothing I would look into how close a match is to the new Monkey,a Honda S2000 or Goldwing which all came in a "bright" yellow as opposed to the mustard yellow used with the 50 K2's

Just found my paperwork, turns out I don't have the yellow just the red and blue

Just found this in my old messages,I never got a answer back to confirm but maybe it will help -

Hi Tim,I see you have not been on in a while but if you see this I have a question for you. In the post- Honda Mexican Yellow there is a picture of your PPG paint mix. I assume that is the formula you had mixed off of my bike? Is that a base coat/clear coat or ? What did you use for silver? Thanks

Thanks Gary for the info on the paint for the 68 Z50. I am a retired auto body painter and the Honda
S2000 color will probably work just fine. It is a nice yellow and will look real nice.

My son got me into the mini trails. I had a mini trail 70 when I was a kid and always wanted a z50. My son has a 68 69 70 and a 71. The 70 and 71 are done , the 68 I have to finish painting the tank and fenders and the 69 he has to tear down. Enclosed are pictures of the completed bikes and my 68 with a borrowed tank and seat to fire it up.

Addicting eh? You two have done good. Getting too expensive now but I should have got another 69 and painted it up like my friend's that got me started into this.

Hi Gary,

If you would be so kind to post the Red and Blue paint codes that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is what I have from when CHP used to sell paint. I would double check these codes with a PPG supplier and see what say
