CT70 K1 Air Box

Hello everyone,

I am needing an air box for my CT70 K1, it doesn’t have to be pretty just straight. I am going to get it painted. I thought my original was in good shape but when I started looking closer the top mounting bracket is nearly broke off. It looks like it’s “wiggled” enough to break the metal all the way around it. Anyways if anyone has one for sell please hit me up.

Thanks

Iv got a buddy that might could weld it but I’m a little scared that as soon as he tries to he’s gonna blow a big hole in it and make it worse lol

Not knowing too many differences other than 78-79 have a plastic vacuum fitting, if you post a pic of what you have, I have several that are freshly powder coated deep gloss black, I was going to use them but not for a while, so...

Phil Y I would definitely be interested in one if you have one like mine. Here are some pics of the one I have.

When you receive one, check that small round disc on the screen. It can come loose and cause a huge problem.

I am sorry for delayed response, health issue. I am 99.9% sure I have one identical to yours, with intact screen and disc, at my shop, I know I have an NOS with the rubber inlet and outlet tubes as well. I will try and get there today and send pics.

Why we’re on the subject, does anyone know all the subtle differences of the air filters, I know I have some that have no screen, just open tube, some have a little countersink hole by the small bracket while others have a little cowl over that hole? Any model year info appreciated, just for reference.
I personally have taken to using the open canister and adapted my own rack and use paint booth type filter type material, even as a kid I disliked the oil soaked sponge material, it always crumbled away.

Here's a spreadsheet that I did last winter. Take some of the p/n's with a grain of salt because there may be errors and changes that I did not catch. Also, not 100% sure that cable clamp is not on the 74 & 75 models. I just had not seen enough of those models at the time to know for sure.

Hey Clayton,
I’m sorry it took so long, I went and grabbed what I have, the NOS has the boots installed and the other one is exact for what you have, soda blasted and powder coated. If you want to PM me, I will be away for a few days this week but will get back with you.

Clayton - It's already broken! You've got nothing to lose! Or, conversely, if you feel it's repairable have someone that's a known welder do it.
