Has anyone purchased the new CT125? I have the itch, would look good with my 86 CT110, $4000 seems high though, do you think they will drop the price in the future? Thanks, Buddy

I've seen some vid reviews and they seem to be great and are very rugged. I personally think they're ugly.lol.....but I wouldnt mind having one.lol. Schedule yourself a test drive. You'll most likely buy it. Better yet, see if you can rent one for a couple weeks, then you'll know for sure.

I have a buddy that has one, he’s not impressed with it but I LOVE it!!! I have a 78 CT90 so I was expecting something close to it. The closest thing to a CT90 he has ever rode is a CFR 450 which is like comparing apples to oranges. It’s a DAMN nice bike that rides smoother and starts easier than the old ones. It’s not gonna get up the mountain first but it will definitely get up EVERY mountain. If go into the bike and having rode an original I think you will be happy but if you are expecting something with crazy speed and torque then keep looking.

My son has a new Monkey, which I have ridden. It pulls about as hard as my CL90 with it's Lifan 140 in it. I expect the CT125 Hunter Cub to have similar power. And my CL just walks away from my neighbor on his CT110. However, here in so cal there are slim to none available yet, and most dealers tell me to expect $500 ADM (additional dealer markup). It's crazy since most dealers have good discounts on bigger bikes, but marking up these little bikes. Even used Monkeys are selling for more than list. Supply and demand I guess. The one thing I really like is that it's the only new little 125cc Honda (Monkey, Grom, Super Cub, Hunter Cub) that has a kick starter as well as electric start.

I would definitely like to have one but won't pay above retail, not many available around my area, think I will wait a few months too see if the demand drops. I would take a $500 rebate but not ready for $500 ADM.

I have several bikes, big and small and always wanted a Yamaha XV250, Air cooled, chain drive, carbureted, V-Twin, been making them since 1989. Found a 2015 with 4k miles, like new for $2000, less than half price of new. Well I thought it was silly for my son to spend $4600 OTD for a puny 125 Monkey and told him so. He asked about my 1982 CT70 which I bought brand new. It's a keeper and has been in the family almost 40 years. He said his Monkey would be a keeper as well and in the grand scheme of things, the initial cost isn't that important, like buying a puppy. And I agreed. So spending an extra $500 or so on something you really want won't make much difference if it's going to be a keeper. Also, that 6 months or a year you wait until you find the deal you want, would be 6 months or a year less riding enjoyment you'll be getting.

i was thinking about getting a new monkey but decided i wanted something with a bigger frame so the hunter cub was the next bike i thought i wanted but one day i got over to JW's house and rode the Yamaha TW 200 that he had just bought a few days earlier, it reminded me of the xl 175 that my cousin donnie had back in high school so if i get anything it will be a TW 200 or another ST 1300

I had an XL175 myself way back then, also had an XL250, 350, 500, and 650R. My favorite was the 250, an '82 with pro-link. An ST1300 is a far cry from a Monkey. Seems the older I get, the more I prefer the little bikes. I have 4 bikes, A Harley Evo Road king, my XV250, a CL90 with a Lifan 140, and a CT70 with a Lifan 110. I put the most miles last year on the CT. If I had the room, I'd buy a Monkey. It's bigger than it looks, torquey, comfortable, and has a manual clutch. The new Hunter Cub is neat, but so is a clean CT90 with a big motor.

yes the ST 1300 is a far cry from a monkey but i would love to have a pair of them in my stable but one would have a trunk and be the touring bike to replace my Goldwing so when the time is right if i find another black ST 1300 with abs i'm going to get it

I've never ridden an ST, but it's one handsome bike and that V4 must be a smooth torque monster. During my working years, I always had a big fast bike, (rode an '82 GS1100E for many years) until I discovered the joys of a big Harley. Now that I'm retired, the Harley gets ridden less than 1000 miles a year, but last year I put over 2000 miles on my 2 little Hondas. Life at 45 mph is pretty sweet.

63 MPH is fast enough for me.

As far as little Hondas are concerned 63 mph is more that fast enough for me. In fact I'm more than happy if I never exceed 50. However, I need to be quick enough so that I can keep up with cars when the light turns green. Plus I don't want to have to watch my mirrors and pull over and ride in the shoulder if I can't keep up with traffic.

in my friend's driveway after taking it for it's first spin. Dealer Markup? $750.00! Didn't bother me as I sold a Classic Record Collection I got for free when it was left at a house my wife was rent whose. It had all the original first releases back to the early 60's. I listened to it for a few years, selling it bit by bit for outragious amounts and then finally sold the last 2500 for $3000. I'm also going to sell my totally restored '70 CT70KO, as I'm tired of fiddling with it all the time, AND I really wanted the new CT125A (aka Trail 125). Fuel Injection, and the first electric start bike I ever had. So fun to ride. Someone did a 'Top Speed' You Tube video on it. 63MPH. It will be 95% Trail ridden, as they're everywhere around me in Palm Springs. Good luck getting one though. It's rare any dealer has gotten so far
