Pick up a oil temp dipstick from dratv/beatrice cycle to monitor the oil temp. I would like to know how hot the head is getting also.

Shut it down if the oil hits 110 Celsius. That's 230 Degrees. Same with the head. Shoot the head with a infrared thermometer. Harbor freight has that. The needle position is is a case by case setting.
Not a one book, the ''manual'' setting fits all... I would raise the needle by lowering the clip one notch at a time and re test. See where it is currently. I would think it's in the middle groove.

If you get a weird ''crappy'' reaction from the clip adjustment, put it back. It could also be in the form of fouling the plug, too black! If you are riding around all the time at ''full throttle'', start looking into getting a step larger main jet. Step up the main jet until the bike stumbles and back it down to the jet that revs out clean... See what main jet is in it and order a couple bigger main jets when you order the dipstick.

When you come back from a ride you want to see a chocolatey brown plug. Not bone white and not black and sooty.
