WTB 1971 CT70 battery box, front fender and plate bracket-FOUND

Well, another K0 CT70 found it's way into my life today. It has the original motor in it and has been hacked all up....within reason. Lol. It's not terrible but definitely needs love, but the motor turns and shows good vital signs. Has compression and oil pump is working. The frame is nice and hasn't been left outside to rot. Surprisingly the plastic headlight bucket is solid and not dry rotted, which I'm very happy to see! And the speedo is nice too. Obviously it will need the oil slinger and clutch to be gone through, and a new kick starter shaft and lever. But going to see if it will even bark before I go deeper. Just need to fix up some of the wiring first. It is however missing the plate bracket, front fender and the battery box. So I thought I'd ask here first if anyone has any of these items in decent shape. Not looking for perfect but nice rider quality parts. I do have lots of parts I could offer in a trade deal to if we make a deal, just let me know what you're looking for. Thanks everyone, winter project season is coming.

Here's a couple as purchased pics to satisfy everyones curiosity. 😃

I have a decent rider front fender, pretty nice license plate bracket, but no battery box. Can post up some pics if you're interested. No problem if if you looking to source all 3 from the same person to save on shipping.

An original usable horn is hard to come by.....but, if you can find one that barely works, they do have an adjustment on them that can be used to revive them. I've brought a couple back to life, but it was hard. Flooding them with electrical contact cleaner helps too.

Yes, I'm aware of the adjustment screw. Almost all the motorcycle horns of those days all had adjustment screws of some sort. I've been lucky with the horns on my other CT's they've all worked with only minor adjustments. So I'm hoping to get lucky and find another. I may have one with my 72 rolling chassis in a tote, but I haven't went digging yet. If I do, then I will rob it for this 71 and order a new one for the 72 as it will be a full proper restoration.

Being that you can still buy an OEM Honda horn for 42.52 from ebay ''dratv'' it seems worthwhile to buy one before they go discontinued next. You can always remove it and put on a different/better shape ct70, down the road. I did.

You're not wrong on that. Unfortunately us Canadians get hosed with anything coming acrossed our border, not to mention our exchange rate at the moment is the worst it's been in 20 years. Horns from my in province go to parts supplier are $70 Canadian. Which is pretty much what one would cost buying from Feebay or another USA vendor after our government and UPS or Fedup gets done bending me over ever so gently! 🤣 But hey....we have free health care....but is it really free?? Hmmmm......not so much!🤔

What has happened to DR.ATV's website anyways? I can't even find it and their Ebay store has zero items listed. Have they closed up shop?

Thanks for the link kirbby. Apparently they are not selling parts to out of country customers anymore, or at least canada anyways. The store says "Seller has no inventory available in your location". That's disappointing news if us Canadians wanted anything from them.

All parts have been found thanks to @allenp42. Parts are in better shape than expected, so thank you allen. I definitely appreciate your honesty and cooperation and taking the time to ship them to me in the great white north. This forum has been extremely useful and I hope some have found at least 1 post of mine helpful too. Thanks! 👍🏻

Finally finished up the faded red patina 71 K0. Thanks @allenp42 for the front fender and tail light bracket. And the few other parts. Hard to believe something that looked this bad can look and function so good again. Paint is original with satin clear coat over all the red bodywork. Rims and all black paint was done at a local paint shop. New decals and original side badges. Engine received a full rebuild with new topend, cam chain and rollers, clutch and springs, and all the other essentials these old turds always need. New complete Honda exhaust. And of course new bridgestones and tubes. Handlebars are a good used set from a K1 I had as they are a much better width for humans. Rear shocks are originals rebuilt by @scooter, which look and function perfectly. He really has a great thing going rebuilding the originals, keep up the good work! This is going to make a perfect rider bike this summer. Just waiting on the pardue brothers to get relocated then I can get my LED headlight kit from them.

Wow - beautiful build
Thanks scooter! It ain't real perfect, but rather a really nice rider. I wouldn't exactly say it's a "survivor" bike as it was in poor poor condition and missing lots of critical items when I got it. But believe it or not, as it sat it did run once I temporarily swapped the carb with a restored one I had ready for another bike. I didn't even check/clean or adjust the points at that time, just checked compression and valve clearance, installed the carb with fresh fuel in an auxiliary bottle, and she fired up right away! So I knew the engine had lots of life in it still.

I will have some more shocks for you to rebuild at some point, but may not be til fall or early winter. I'm pretty well done working on mini junk for this season. Lol.
