ST90 electricals

so i think that my dad and i have finally found our bike:D! its an ok condition 73' st90, however, some parts are missing. most notably is the turn signals, so my first question is where can i get some? stock turn signals would be a plus, but im fine with aftermarket too, but the problem is not the tur signals it seems, but the turn signal hinges which are also missing and from what ive seen harder to find. second is that i think we might need a wiring harness. it seems as though they might have lost the key and tryed to hot wire it or something, so the wires might be cut, but im not sure. i know cmsnl.com has some of these parts, but its a little to pricey and most of the parts are out of stock that i might need. also they seem to be in europe (everything is in euro's not $'s) so if any of you mini trail guru's could let me know where to get some of these items that would be great! thank you.

Thats one of the downsides to the 90's...The lack of parts availability. Post on all of the Honda forums what you need and also check Old Bike Barn. The parts will turn up.

the rear turn signals are stock ct70..the fronts are unique and somewhat difficult to find.(i think its the fronts)..no wire harness is available..i am unsure what key switch you need..you might compare a stock ct70 switch as i think that may fit (i never checked before)...excluding the kick starter shaft and some muffler stuff just about everything else is available at honda.....they are worth fixing..fast little boogers especially consider the little boogers have spark advance and woobly bars which make for a hair raising ride at speed<<<<i will not do another but thay are neat little bikes..post a pic so we can see whats missing

ps...honda may still have keys especially if you locate an older store.(i found my key at honda).also keys are available on-line but i forget the link (many here should know)

ps:my advise forget the turn signals and get the bike running..they really are a pain in the ass along with the rear luggage rack (a bigger pain in the ass along with being rare and dealer only installed option)..if yours has the rear luggage rack many will want so sell it for $100 to finance motor and other rebuild parts

I agree, get the bike running first. I picked up a '74 ST last summer that did not have spark. Worked on it for 2 weeks and got spark. Had it running for a day and lost spark. Looking to start working on it again soon. Enough of my rambling, did digging around and found out that electrical problems are common on the STs. So get it running (more than a day) than buy the parts

honda electrical systems are second to none..they are that good..problem is 30 plus year old wiring harness and the like...once you rebuild they rarely if ever fail...its just jap small hands and notorious jap build quality (read they routed wires through the smallest little openings) that make for the frustration...honda electrical systems and components is good stuff
